A bad and sad 24hrs for our country.

In retrospect I feel a little stupid having been a little out of touch and posting about footy during that time.

We can only hope some positive changes come out of all this pain and suffering.

Apparently I need sports in my life because I just watched the second half of Melbourne v Canberra National Rugby League.

That reminds me, I should probably cancel my Willow TV subscription because there is nothing to watch. Got it for the WC knockout rounds last year and then kept it for the Ashes and other stuff.

League was great in the 80s when it was essentially fighting. Its dull now.

I played rugby on and off for the better part of 12 years. But I’ve only, ever watched one Rugby League game. My impression was that it is the missing link between Rugby and American football. Not interested.

I've never understood union - way too many stoppages and minor infringements that break up play and turn it into a kick-fest. League - that shit's my jam. When I was a kid I ordered an old EA Sports rugby league game and it was frickin' awesome.

I'm not gonna argue with you about rugby . . . I'd be seriously outmatched. But that rugby league computer game was fire.

    I am just ribbing you.

I think you have to grow up with Rugby (I went to a rugby mad school back in the amateur era)

League got very popular in NZ in the 80s because it was pro and had the hype and glitter factor of a large pro league. But it was also a very different game and the violence was a big part of it.

The games I remember we gathered round the TV for as students were the so called "state of origin" games. i.e. New South Wales vs Queensland which was billed as state against state / mate against mate

So basically club team mates found themselves on opposite sides.

The first 10 mins of these games typically had all in brawls as the forwards sought to "soften each other up"

NZ vs Aust was also brutal

Timo Werner to Chelsea, which, wow.

Someone out there has a Tammy Abraham voodoo doll.

Kind of shocked myself honestly. Tammy's looked the best out of youth so far.

It is shocking and Tammy is a stud. Chelsea just went into immediate win now mode though.

Seems like Roman is worried about something Putin might do.

Tammy is ok but Werner is much better

I feel like Tammy May be one of those guys that burns bright early and then doesn’t do much.)
    His form massively dipped
