I think what really bothers me is there is no reason Denmark and Ukraine should play friendly against each other where 34 year old Eriksen plays. Neither side is at the World Cup.
That's excellent. And hilarious. And I can imagine bad human or computer errors led to that. Unless it's a product of AI or photoshop.
It appears to be legit which makes me wonder if Kobbie is at Man Red and if Ollie Kane plays at West Midlands Village?
Looks like that scumbag Sullivan was doing a "sleep with me and you'll get opportunities" game with some models he met up with. He's toast.
Don’t know quite where to put this, but it looks like Timber will have the whole summer to rest and rehab his groin. “Arsenal right-back Jurrien Timber has been ruled out of the upcoming World Cup due to a groin injury. The Dutch national team confirmed his withdrawal, stating he had not sufficiently recovered to play a 'medically responsible' role. Timber had missed much of Arsenal's Premier League run-in with the injury but made a brief return in the Champions League final. Sunderland's Lutsharel Geertruida has been called up to the Netherlands squad as Timber's replacement. Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman noted that Timber had not been able to train regularly with the national team since joining the squad. ”
These pundits make some good points. I starting to think we are going to have a stroll in the park to the title next season. If we buy correctly then we should win fairly comfortably. To me that means with 3 or 4 games left we are up by 7 points or more to the next closest team. Of Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and City, one or two of them will push us. We may even start out a bit slower than one or two of them. But we should prevail. The following season is going to be very, very tough as all will have a full season under their belts. I can foresee a very, very tough road to the title among 3 sides at least in the 2028 season.
So we have sacked our physician. I'm not sure if it is the schedule or the medical team these days. But change is always welcome.
Schedule + play style + fatigue built up over seasons. There was a lot of discussion around the time of peak-Barcelona talking about how teams built around high-intensity pressing can really only hold up for three years or so before the bill comes due. After mostly healthy 2022/2023 and 2023/2024, we started to see the injuries pile up, especially to players who logged a ton of minutes in 2023/2024, e.g., Havertz, Saka, Odegaard, and White.
Timber is out and Cala isn't going. The M and M and M and M (Madueke, Martinelli, Merino, and Myles) probably won't be playing a ton either.
I don't think Raya has overtaken Simon for Spain. White, Mosquera and Calafiori are on a beach somewhere. Timber and Saliba are injured. Of our entire world beating defense, only Gabi and Hincapie will log significant minutes at the World Cup if their nations progress. The midfield is where we are in trouble as far as minutes on top of already weary legs. Rice, Zubi, and Odegaard will all play significant minutes. Merino may as well, though he can likely use the exercise. MLS won't play much, but should be fine if he does. Saka, Trossard, Kai and Viktor will all play significant minutes as well.
Saliba played for France yesterday. And even if a lot of these guys don't play large %s of minutes, being around the WC is gonna take a toll. I'd much rather they were all on a beach somewhere.
Come to the USA David. Your behavior would be a badge of honor. Especially if you run for public office.
Very glad to hear this. I was scratchin my head when I heard arseblog talking yesterday about JT playing in WC’26. Yeah, I shoulda said that. I’m sure he REALLY wanted to get back to match fitness for our run-in and WC. But sadly it wasn’t to be.
