For the last 8 years, the EPL has looked like the SPL. Either City or Liverpool and one would think even neutrals would be happy to see someone upse that apple cart. Only a few Man Utd online platforms are happy to see us win instead of City of Liverpool for self serving reasons. Even ruling out Chelsa and Tottenham fans. So many others have an issue about it. Even fans of clubs not in London. And I really can't see why a West Ham, Fulham, Charlton or a Palace fan would feel a certain way either.
Because football is 50% morality play Whenever a team is not doing well, it's always because of some character flaw. Lack of passion, work ethic, loyalty, selflessness etc etc Ironically fans get mad that footballers always stick to bland comment during their careers, but this is why. If they actually say wht everyone can see, the pundit class crank up the outrage.
My favourite example of this is when Roy Keane went on Man U TV and pointed out Alan Smith couldn't play midfield properly - for which he was booted
Again, dude taking shots at bosses is super normal. I long ago lost count of the number of times I’ve done it.
I had noticed early on that English clubs were going to be in the finals or at the very least represented well in the semis of the European cups. But was this an issue when Real Madrid and Barca were winning the CL routinely or at least in the in the finals?
The issue is more that mid-level premier league teams are beating the upper echelons of Europe's other leagues. Palace is 15th and playing in the conf league final. I don't know how durable all of this is, though: possible this is a flash in the pan, but it seems like this is a Premier League financial advantage that might be durable.
Especially when you combine that with the fact that Europa doesn't get the parachute CL teams anymore. I think that makes a huge difference.
Like anyone who is very good at their job, there is a streak of arrogance in all elite athletes, they wouldn’t be elite without it. It’s expressed in different ways, some benign and some athletes are self aware enough to suppress that arrogance around others. But it can be quite jarring to their sense of self, when their skills decline with age. Some blame others. This may be where Salah is, at this stage of his career.
I had watched the video already, the CL you have PSG, Madrid, Barca etc that can keep up with the top PL clubs. But once you get to the middle tier, the 10th most valuable PL club will dwarf the resources of the 10th most valuable in other big leagues. Either the 9th or the 20th largest club in the world per Deloitte will be relegated from the PL this season.
Southampton officially OUT of the playoff final, 4 points deducted from the beginning of next season's campaign. Middlesborough in to play Hull for final spot in PL. Let the lawsuits fly.
Not super normal in my experience. And all those pot shots you took against your bosses, you did publicly, e.g. Twitter?
