MBappe don’t play for the team. You can’t win a serious league with a player like that as your central figure. Even old man Benzema ran more than Mbappe does. Madrid were an industrious team and then signed him.
Mbappe works for France because international tournaments are usually won by teams having a collection of individual moments. But a long league season where you are around selfish, toxic individuals day in day out at a club where it's a case of the inmates running the asylum and you get Madrid\PSG with Mbappe as top dog. Talent? Mbappe on the left at Arsenal would be generational. Same as Vini Jr. But personalities? I don't know if I would want anyone involved with this current Madrid team anywhere near our club. As for the cup results, Palace making the final is great for us because it means they will rest players on the last match day knowing they have the Conference Final 3 days later. And Aston Villa winning also helps us because it means 6th place is now very likely to be a UCL spot meaning Bournemouth and Brentford will do their best against City. Not that you would think either team wouldn't, but there's now that little bit extra on the line. If Brentford beat City to get UCL football, I might even maybe one day consider forgiving them for that "kick around in the park" tweet. Maybe.
HT Citeh 0-0 Brentford Poss: 69% - 31% Shots: 15(4) - 1(0) Lovely to see such frustration amongst Pep Boys. How long might it last???
2-0. The big scandi monster muscles it in. Probs done, with just 15mins to go. Back over to you Mikel?
Glad I didn’t turn it on at halftime. I saw these first half stats and anticipated the eventual outcome.
3-0. They’ve looked like they were thinking of goal difference the whole day. But now we just have to do our business so that GD is moot.
On another note, and I'm in my petty mood at the moment, I would love to know what Chido Obi is thinking about his move to Man Utd?
Barça beat Real to clinch La Liga in El Classico. Not really surprising judging by the chaos during mid-week.
The anti Arsenal sentiment is real. I didn't think so at first, but it is. If or when we win, for at least a year but my guess longer, people will say 'The referee handed you the title'. It will be a mantra when this title comes up. We shouldn't care. People are far more petty than I am. Spurs fans bringing up the corruption that got us in the football league well over a century ago is evidence of that. I doin't deny it. And I'll tell them the same thing I told my prom date years about me and a cheerleader and years later who was still bitter about it "Yes, we cheated, get over it, let it go". What would be ironic to the Tottenham fans that actually cheered for West Ham when they scored is if WH actually ended up staying up anyway.
Happens every year. Last year it was "LiVARpool" and "you only won because Arsenal and City were injured/shit". Honestly we could have won committing no fouls, 5-0 every game with the most beautiful football you have ever seen and the circus would still complain. They would say shit like "DON'T YOU ALL MISS THE GRITTY 1-0 FOOTBALL OF 2005 CHELSEA?" etc etc. The tears when we win the league will be sweet but I won't be online for ages after we win because I will be off celebrating
That guy ain't been serious since the WC Final in 2018. IMO that final ruined him, everyone started kissing his ass.
IMO people equate Arsenal fans to AFTV. There are Arsenal fans, and then there are those weirdo online content creator ecosystem lobotomy candidates. If you can't separate the two I can't help you. I also don't pay attention to what "rivals" think, but I'm old so there is that.
It's intentional to create this content. Known as 24/7 content. Other sports like rugby have been trying to emulate it - because otherwise you only have content in the time immediately before and after the game, and nothing to fill that gap until the next week. Football is relatively unique in that these narratives are so powerful in between the games
Really hope Bournemouth give city a tough time. They are a really solid side, not sure about palace Villa seems a dead game on the last day too. Hopefully city drop at least 2 points in the next 2 games and we beat Burnley to take the pressure off
We just gotta win out. If we cannot beat the last place team and a team who will likely play academy kids we gotta do some introspecting. City are done, they were done till we gave them life. Just gotta do our thing.
Bournemouth's fighting for a European spot, potentially (given the complex permutations for it to happen) a UCL spot but certainly a UEL spot. They'll give it their all but Arsenal need to do this on their own.
Unfortunately for City theres still the chance they get Bournemouth playing out of their skin for a UCL spot, and then depending on what happens with Villa they might not be able to play the kids against City either. The only game I am expecting an easy City win from is the Palace game.
Its funny in the AFL because theres basically 3 TV shows, 2 of them on Mon/Tues/Weds and one thats on Mon-Thurs and when you see an incident in the AFL you can immediately guarantee thats the topic of the week.
Don't pop in here much these days, but just wanted to stop in and say COYG!!! Ignore all the noise and nonsense from knucklehead supporters from other teams. They're just trolls and/or jealous. After two decades of under achievement I don't think any AFC fan cares if every game is a 1-0 win. I know we'd all prefer a 3-0 or 4-1 walk in the park, but at this point, all that matters is winning. Three games (and hopefully three wins) to go!..
