Yes, but it’s not decisive. The league title still depends on how the other seven games play out. Both teams are prone to dropping points.

I don't understand why/how City have a game in hand, but with that said. Nothing really changed imo, we can't lose at City and have to win every game. I agree with you both teams drop points, what's actually funny is that usually City either lose or win in these decisive games so to see them draw was hilarious.

Rearranged from League Cup final weekend. Our match was already made up, but theirs couldn’t be because their opponent had a Conference League match that week. So it will happen sometime later.

    Mathematically correct, but psychologically improbable.

i told y'all City would drop points. And at home against a relegation-threatened team.
We will too but i just want people to know that CIty is not a machine that will just collect 3 points from now till the end.

I don't think it's improbable at all. I also think the psychological effect of losing a final to them and watching them lift the tropy could be more, or at least just as, damaging.

I certainly wouldn't throw away a guaranteed trophy over the probability. They don't come around that often. Give me the bird in hand, and let me hunt for a second bird afterwards.

    Nah

The Milk cup is a joke trophy. Of course I'd rather have it than nothing, but if we don't win the league, a shitty cup isn't going to make it hurt less.

The FA Cup is at least a cup with some meaning - but even then - we did win it a few times in recent years and I really don't care about it.

The only cup that would compensate is the CL

You all have full bellies from all the trophies we have won lately. You can be picky.

I still am starving and am not turning my nose up at any food. It's an 'either/or choice' of which game to lose not an 'either/or choice' of which trophy to win. My point is we can guarantee at least one trophy, and the other win still does not guarantee us another trophy. I don't think the City game is decisive although it is a big game, obviously.

I have said all along that we are going to win the league.

I do believe winning begets winning and losing begets losing, but i think we overindex single results. Finals are single match things where anything can happenand yes if we win the LC it could be a good help for the other finals but i don't think it'd be tha significant.

I’m pretty sure @mebeSajid was talking about winning the league game against City, which you responded to above.

My response was about the psychological boost of winning the league game. Neither of us was talking about the Cup final.

Exactly. The magic number is currently 21 points with eight to play. Assume that both us and City win the next two games, which would reduce the magic number to 15.

A win at the Etihad would mean we would need 9 points from the last five games (including games against Fulham, West Ham, Burnley, and Palace, all in London) to clinch the title. A draw would be mean we would need to 12 from the last five, and a loss would mean we'd need to win out (the fifth game of the last five is against Newcastle, so slightly more difficult opposition there).

In this hypothetical scenario where we win one match or the other, I'd much rather take the win in the league.

World-class Micky Van de Ven has been sent off for a very unnecessary last-man challenge, conceding a penalty in the process.

As I type, Palace makes it 2-1 heading into the break.

    Ho-ly...****.

I mean, Wolves are showing more backbone than S***s these days. Forrest or West Ham might stay up by default; at this rate they'll be relegated by early May.

Yep. Unfortunately the games next weekend won't change much for them. However they play Forest away on the 22nd which should be a 6-pointer.

City start losing, Arsenal keep winning, and Arteta throws the match vs West Ham to help relegate sp*rs.

Don't tell me that it will never happen.

There could be a weekend that confirms Arsenal champions and Spurs relegation.

Part of me will be sad, a Spurs relegation means we don't get an easy 6 points and goal difference next season but it's a hit I'm willing to take :D

Tottenham schedule is challenging to finish the season

It would be hilarious if they get relegated and we win the league

I still cannot fathom that they truly are in serious trouble. I keep expecting them to win the matches they're "supposed" to win and finish the season comfortably. Baffling that it isn't happening. Feels like I could pick the lineups and get results . . . figured Tudor could too.

Tudor failed in Italy and he will fail here

Especially in this toxic situation which isn’t particularly that much worse than juve

They looked dangerous, but then the red card undid them. Spurs and the Arsenal are right now a tale of mentalities. Do we have what it takes to get over the line? Do Spurs have what it takes not to fall under the line? Talent is there for both.
