Credit to City, LFC were poor, took a worldie just to score like our game. City have yet to show they can go on one of those 5,6 ror7 winning runs. Till then its mainly ours.

I don't think City will beat Newcastle at home when we go to Spurs. Which I think we'll win because Spurs will play open football.

I also wouldn't put Fulham to the sword vs City on Thursday either. I don't think the pull on Salah was enough. Guehi will save them a few goals before all is said and done despite a bit of controversy in the game over an incident.

I think the focus should be less on “opportunity” and more on “obvious.” Any foul in the act of shooting would technically be DOGSO if you focus on “opportunity.” The CB being able to provide cover makes it less “obvious.”

Being wide of goal rather than in the middle works to the detriment of “obvious” as well.

If we don’t win the league this year we should hire Alonso.

Sure, that's what the ref went with. I just don't agree. I think Salah is getting a really good shot off before the other CB can pressure him.

Tetaball has infected the Super Bowl, all scoring is set pieces* and nothing from open play**

I didn't think so in real time, but I see what you’re saying. I still think it would have been harsh though.

I’ve watched exactly 1 half of NFL this season and that was 1st half last night. Kinda reminded me of the quality of 1T of AFC-CFC last week… but actually considerably worse. But I did make that mental connection with Artetaball. LOL

Probably; with Alonso now a FA however, I'm sure Liverpool will at least reach out to him and see.

This is actually a pretty astute observation by Mark Goldbridge, surprised I didn't think of it myself and posted and gotten a couple detractors here personally insulting me about it. :)

I stopped watching the NFL many, many years ago. The Super Bowl became a joke. The league literally thinks of it not as an a sporting event but literally 'entertainment' no different than the Oscars or Grammys. Tell me a sport, a championship game where in some years the half time show and the adverts were literally the biggest thing about it? Literally what people talked about after and the next day in the office other than the game itself?

The NFL has become unwatchable. Its completely different than the game I watched and played as a kid. In the old days fatigue was a factor in the game, especially the linemen on both sides of the ball. There are so many interruptions it no longer is. They have more than enough time to rest. The league felt it needed those time outs to sell ads.

My one big worry years ago of Americans buying the clubs is I feared they'd do the same. Turn the league into the dreadful football version of the NFL.

What I loved about the EPL years ago when I started watching it was it was fast paced, end to end, rough. Half the fouls then that they just gave free kicks to are now bookings. Yes, it went to far at times and some of the referees were bent. I am sure. Still it was exciting. Today's version has too many p*ssies. I expect the southern European, African and South American players to fake injuries for simple challenges as they do in the World Cup (that's a whole other topic), but now the British players, and other countries where its not normally done like Germans, nordic players are doing it as well.

It's made the league worse. Gen Zers think its normal. It wasn't so before.

Anyway, back to American sports, the NFL and NBA are shadows of it former self. The players may be bigger and faster but the rules are such they may as well put on dresses and call it a the WNFL and merge the two b-ball leagues and keep the name WNBA.

Yes, this is a toxic masculine post, don't give a sh*t. It doesn't change the fact its true.

I also preferred when the land monsters could bash their heads together with impunity. But a lot of the precautions that have been implemented by the NFL make a ton of sense and are meant to improve safety. It is what it is.

Got no problem with safety concerns like spearing. But there is some sort of break every 2 minutes. The Super Bowl itself overtly violates NFL regulations. In the NFL, the official rule that dictates halftime length is found in Rule 4, Section 1, Article 3, which mandates an intermission of 13 minutes between the second and third quarters. While officially 13 minutes, the second half generally begins within 12 to 15 minutes of the first half ending. The Super Bowl ignores it.

My main issue I wrote in my long, drab, verbose pos was that it had too many interuptions. Not much about safety, but still the fact that they ignore knee pads means you are pretty much playing 'touch football' out there.

The NBA is a joke. Jokic would be a mere all star in the '90s. A great player in 2026, a decent, good player in 1996. He'd made the all start, wouldn't start.

Jokic would be a benchwarmer in the 90s? Time to reboot the server. Clearly got a memory leak somewhere causing the model to say stupid crap.

The United fans have been very yappy lately... They find themselves currently down 1-0 to WHU.

This on the back of a lot of them saying that if they go undefeated the rest of the season they would be putting the pressure on us and City :D

Edit: United pinch a goal at the death but they still dropped 2 points to WHU and that poor lad with the hair has to restart the count. That said he probably loves staying relevant that bit longer.

With Sp*rs loss today, if Arsenal win the next two league games, we can celebrate St. Totteringhams Day in their stadium.

Spurs better worry about being in the top flight next season.

If West Ham won, Spurs would be three points away from relegation

I don't see Spurs getting relegated. They have the best side of the relegation zone squads I think. They have also had a lot of injuries. I'd love it but I don't see it happening. If they did, I wonder if they'd come straight back up?

Sesko scored a goal I didn't think he had in his locker. I am cheering hard for Gyokeres, but I wanted Sesko way more and yes, he was out of our price range, but had we bought him, I think we'd be way ahead in the league. I say this based on how I think Arteta would have used him.

We need a winning run that includes Spurs and Chelsea. Dot that and its a wrap. We should beat Spurs away but a draw at home to Chelsea would not be a shock. Despite our wins over them.
