After the inevitable Chelski slump you’re going to have to revise this to say Accenture consultant

    lol

    it’s win/win

Either he will be successful and become the most insufferable twat in the league in 20 years or he’ll provide the greatest comedy since the Eddard Moyes era!

QPR equalise with WHU, been a fun match to watch since switching over after the Pompey game.

Hard to tell which team is bottom 3 in the EPL and which team is 15th in the Championship.

Honestly, from what I've heard lately, it seems that Real is a country club whose players don't want to be told what to do because they're already good and are backed by Perez.

Then you get an Arsenal who give 'em a footballing lesson. :D

The strangest coaching rumor was Klopp, who would probably be more even demanding about the divas off the ball work rate than Xabi.

Besides, IIRC isn't he part of the Paris FC project and he's backed by plenty of money? Why the hell would be move to Real and deal with that headache?

Many RM fans and I think the administration thinks they are bigger than football. I despise them. Thinking they are more special than anyone else. Different than the average fan thinking their club is special as we all do Arsenal. Its elitist.

Sacking Xabi is a bit nuts. They are in second place. Only a Real Madrid would consider 2nd place by only 4 points is a sackable offense. Okay, they lost a cup to Barcelona, is it that bad?

It is when the players, led by Mbappe, are obviously in revolt against him.

Can't sack the whole team though.

You know what I find interesting? Real and Chelsea were the first ones to sack coaches quickly and seemingly harshly but they won trophies.

This one however stands out as different. Coaches sacked were kind of winning but either lost critical matches, lost the dressing room or over relied on individual talent etc. This one is pure mutiny. Perez has never pick players over coaches until now. It feels off unless Madrid can pull off seasons like Chelsea when they had Avram Grant or Di Matteo. Which I'm skeptical about given those aforementioned roosters had immense chemistry over the years which this squad of many new players doesn't have one bit.

But let's see how things pan out.

Semenyo is gonna be a problem. He's easily their best winger purchase since Mahrez, who was also proven at the league at time of purchase.

That and Cherki's rising influence on the team.

From what I've heard is that they lost to Barca, it's how they lost. They played as if they were a relegation side (soak up pressure then hit on the counter); which is quite hilarious considering (IIRC) how Jose used to play Barca.

With their money City has and will buy the best players for their needs. Far more than any other side can. . Most do well, some don't but they can go back into the market and do it again.

It shouldn't be a surprise, its also how things are going to be. The one thing we have over them is a deeper team in every position. They will have to choose which competition to concentrate on who to rotate. That's our one redeeming strength and advantage.

City will get to the point late in the season where they will be scoring 3 or 4 but conceding 2 or 3 or 4 because their defense is struggling. If they didn't sign an elite GK they would have dropped another 5 points this season.

The athletic piece, which reads like Alonso briefed them, lays into how the players were a bunch of divas who wouldn’t work and train the way Alonso wanted.

If true, Real have a major culture problem that probably only peak Pep could change (not that he’d ever go there), and even then only if he had the authority to clear out some of the bigger egos.

Which is ironic because the whole point of hiring him was to bring better tactical coherence to the club

....which is why some of the Klopp rumors (mostly from silly accounts) are hilarious.

Ironically from a man management, rock star culture point of view, I could see Klopp doing well there, but he'd have to reduce heavy metal football 90% and increase crying over pizza therapy by 300%

They'd still need to clear out the likes of Vini for that to work, and their galacticos approach isn't really compatible with getting rid of players that don't fit with the manager's playing style.

I think I heard Balague (who knows a thing or two about Spanish football) say that RM is an uncoachable team. e.g. interfering president. But also nearly unmanageable also? e.g. primadonna players.

In Jitters-speak, the first team trainer’s job at Real Madrid Football Club has impossible constraints because of the Real Madrid Corporation.
