They cut it in half by giving him a peace prize.

I can't see attendance meeting pre Trump election projections. I may be surprised but don't see it. I am also curious about the public ICE units in cities that have games. I gotta assume they will avoid that but one never knows. Can't put anything past this administration. The logical thing to do seems to be kryptonite at times.

So, if I am from Ecuador, Senegal, Morocco, or Cameroon, and want to see my country play in the world cup its likely they aren't thinking about ICE or anything while walking around? Okay.

Btw, big fan of Dolemite, what part of Philly you from?

Isn't it the top 8 third placed teams go through? Still means 4 teams finish third and miss out.

Obviously a lot can change in the WC and the play off winners will change the difficulty of the groups.
Groups a, d, f and i look like the harder groups. Groups d and i could have a variety of combinations for teams to finish top 2 and getting 3rd might not be enough because goals might be hard to come by.
Groups b, e, h, and l look very straight forward for 1st place and in most cases top 2.

Belgium, Brazil, Argentina and Portugal all got gifted easy groups. Can't wait to see which team butchers it.

Rumor at the time, but there were supposedly backroom talks to the Nobel committee that in exchange for ending the war in Gaza they'd give him the peace prize. He's obsessed with it allegedly to a certain extent because Obama got it.

You know what? Were I on the committee, I would have compromised. Yes it would hurt the integrity of the award but I'd balance that on the lives saved. But that's me.

He hasn't ended any wars though, and people are still dying.

Most corrupt and incompetent President in the US doesn't deserve a prize, he deserves a cell.
Back to football, there isn't a super clear group of death but US/Aus/Paraguay/last qualifying Euro team isn't ideal. Very funny on social media though, the USA fans are happy they got Australia from pot 2 and Australian fans are happy we got one of the host nations rather than one of the European big boys.
I am glad our group is full of teams we have never played in a WC before, so happy to see new match ups.

Especially happy to avoid Chile, France and Germany as we keep playing them at World Cups and they spank us each time.
And really glad our first match isn't against the USA because the first games usually results in a win for the hosts (Qatar being the exception last WC they might be the only team to ever lose the opening game, a few teams have drawn their opener though like South Africa in 2010).

USA v Paraguay is spicy though considering the last time you guys played them it was a 2-1 result and in stoppage time it resulted in a fun little kerfuffle.

I don't see where we disagree on the Orangeman. In fact, I'd say his tenure is one of the more clear signs America's empire has actually ended. It's just waiting for an event or two (my guess the next crash) to be the visible sign. Its run its course. Empires, on average last about 250 years. Sounds about right for America. The Roman Empire had weak corrupt emperors towards the end as well and before its all said done, just like Rome, America will elect a good one as a final desperate measure to save itself but it will be too late. One could argue it doesn't deserve saving. Any G7 nation that elects someone like him has already failed. Dead and doesn't realize it.

As for the World Cup, I agree with a few on here who say Group I is probably the toughest. In England's group, Croatia and Ghana have decent players each but who knows if they will turn u Panama can are capable of drawing with anyone on their day.

America's group might be rigged. lol Americans, by and large only watch football once every 4 years en masse. If they want Americans to get motivated America has to do decently. Its about money.

A Group of Death, to me, is 3 title contenders in a group where only 2 advance. Looking back on past tournaments, Group B in 2012 Euros - Germany, Portugal, Netherlands and Denmark - only those first 2 advanced. 2014 World Cup had some tough groups - England and Italy taken out in Group D, Portugal out in Group G, Spain in Group B.

The expanded World Cup is really just a 32 team knockout tournament. The group stage is for seeding and to sell more tickets and TV ads.

3pm matches just done. Citeh with a never-in-doubt win, close to within 2pts of us. Spuds get a rare home win. But to brighten things just slightly, Chel$ski drop more points (just 1 out of their last 9?). Maybe Pool can do something similar to mitigate the damage we're feeling from this morning?

Leeds-Liverpool OMG. A completely boring scoreless 1T and now a frigging crazy 2T. It's 3-3 after another comeback by the hosts. 97' with a few more to go. Glad I stuck with it.

And then, onto my last match of a footy marathon... in Miami.

Say what you will about our club and players but you wouldn't be seeing Martinelli come out and call it a hit job on Arteta on him as to why he is on the bench a lot, or throw say, Hincapie, under the bus for not making a good clearance against Villa.

Even RVP didn't complain about Arsenal until AFTER he left, didn't he?

Yeah I can't recall a player, or at least a player of this prominence, losing the plot and doing a public interview like that. Obviously he feels dissed, wants out, and was willing to go nuclear. And this confirms an inkling I've always had about his extremely self-centered psyche. Oh what days these are to be an LFC supporter!

Disagree with this take. Salah is the main reason Liverpool have won stuff in the last ten years. For the club and fans to turn on him this season reflects really badly on Liverpool and its fans.

Didn't know about fans turning on him, but if that's so, that's just the life (and risk) you lead as a pro. And did the club really turn on him, when they seemed pretty desperate to sign him last summer, and it was he and his agent seemed to be stalling? And doesn't the manager have the right to choose who should play based on current merit?

In the wider football community, I very much doubt that anywhere near a majority will be in support of what Mo just did. He's basically saying I'm bigger than the club, and deserves special treatment. Sure that's sometimes been an unspoken (private) truth for some players (CR7?) but to take it public in the way he just did, he just went nuclear. And hard to imagine him playing for LFC ever again. Which seems to be what he is forcing.

Palace up to 4th after a late winner at Craven Cottage, scored by Guehi. Who they'll really try to hold onto this January. Then their next big hold will have to be Glasner in the summer, after he's already complained about lack of support. This unexpected success is a bit of a dual-edge sword for Steve Parish?

I rarely like players going public like this but it's wild to me people would side with Slot over Mo. Not sure if there's a religious/race component but Salah was way more influential last year than Slot and Slot has liverpool playing like ass. 3 games in 7 days against relegation teams and he can't get more than 1 half?

And he said Slot is basically not talking to him. I gotta assume martinelli hasn't said anything like this because 1) He's nowhere near being Salah and 2) Arteta talks to his players.
I get that he's dutch but not talking to your star and the face of the liverpool is crazy horrible management.

So far all I've heard is one (primadonna) player who's pissed off because he's been benched for 3 games. Don't think we've heard Slot or the club's side of this yet, and it seems unlikely to me that Slot will sling mud back at Mo... he seems more mature and restrained than that, but let's see.

If Mo felt strongly about continuing with LFC, he coulda just kept this in-house, played his cards, and you never know Slot might've brought him back in (I always expected that) or Slot might have a falling out with ownership and be gone.

For Mo to go nuclear publicly probably seals his fate to be sold and seems to imply that he might not actually love that club as much as he might've previously portrayed.

It's the doing this publicly that is most shocking (and a bunch of other adjectives one might think of)

How much of Guehi and Glasner's futures depend on Palace staying in Europe next season?
