Depends on when he started using this. If its October/November he's 7-1-1 The video inferred its a fairly new tactic being employed recently.

I think with MLS, it’s a style issue

Tuchel wants a straight line fullback on the left. Miles is a CM. I blame Tuchel for calling him up, tbh

I still think MLS will eventually move up to midfield. He basically plays as a midfielder as a LB anyway. So if Tuchel were smart, he'd consider MLS since he's more versatile.

IMO, none of those 3 players are strong (lock-down) defenders. So it comes down to whatever Tuchel considers to have sufficient proficiency in defense and how he wants them to support the attack.

    Arsenal 2 - 0 Serbia

    Saka and Eze

edit: Result knocked Serbia out of qualifying, confirming Albania's second place spot and entry to the playoffs

I saw that Rice was subbed off at around 65 but it seemed just a rest thing as a couple of subs were made at the same time.

My heart quickly sank when I read the first 6 words of that post. Then it came back... mostly.

Any fitness updates on any of our players will be much appreciated. I'm more nervous about that than usual this break. For obvious(?) reasons.

And Ireland beat Portugal 2-0! Hmm. And CR7 with a straight red.

Does this mean we don’t get a Switzerland Serbia rematch?

Albania - Serbia matches were rather saucy
If you are into that sort of thing

Did Saka play the whole game? Rice played 65 minutes according to the stats. Didn't see the game. Not sure how you do not have MLS at least on the bench. Minutes, shimutes, he's more than good enough to slot in and do well.

v Switzerland too. Think a fair number of Swiss footballers have Kosovar and/or Albanian ancestry (Shaqiri and the Xhaka brothers to name three) so those get saucy as well.

Yes, he did. And at one point, there was a scare when he appeared to do the "sub me" hand gesture. Turned out to be he wanted to change his boots. :)

Hopefully, Tuchel limits his minutes (to maybe 0) in the next match.

Doubt Tuchel will. He'll run him into the ground. Rice right behind him.

Eh, maybe. But Tuchel subbed Rice off at around 70 minutes, so.....?

Speaking of MLS, announced they will align their schedule with the major European leagues and run from fall to spring. Seems like a gamble, I don't see it failing spectacularly as it did for the USFL, I assumed they've done their homework and think it will be a net positive. They will take a mid-winter break and avoid matches in northern cities in the coldest months.

When he called him up he was on a great run though, wasn't that last season initially when he was called up?

CONCACAF qualifying with the US, Mexico, and Canada all getting automatic bids coupled with the expanded World Cup is drunk. Suriname and Curacao sit on top of their groups with one match left. Curacao need just a draw at Jamaica on the last day to qualify, Suriname need to match or beat Panama's result to guarantee a spot. Haiti are second in their group to Honduras on goal difference so they need to cheer for Costa Rica.

Suriname in the WC is an insane thought. Gotta do it for Clarence Seedorf

If you are single, show up where Suriname and Cape Verde will play next summer.

"Speaking of MLS” haha… I have to say it’s been really hard for me to get used to referring to Myles with that acronym because for 30 years it’s meant only one thing to me.

As for that League, this decision is certainly a big one, which has numerous pros and cons*. But I’m supportive of them trying it, and we’ll just have to see how it works out.

    * e.g. i’ll miss going out to NYRB in June/July, which were my favorite months to watch them.

I pretty much gave up on the MLS, but I also have PTSD from “trying” to be a DC United supporter.

If they play in NYC it will be insane, either that or Miami would be the best site
