They had real interest in Carlos Baleba but Brighton wanted Caicedo money.

That's fair - I guess that I'm just perceiving that he's spent a lot of time unavailable for Palace.

In the past four days, Juve have conceded 6 goals from 1.6xGA. Hilarious.

Saw the highlights last night at home; total madness.

At least Juve aren't boring so far this season.

Looks like Jose's going full circle and is about to be (re)hired by Benfica.

Two points re Bayern vs Chelsea.

Today is the only time I have ever celebrated goals by Harry Kane.
Michael Olise has taken his game up another level

Liverpool ultra-committed to only winning games in the last ten minutes.

Bro he's amazing. Truly is. And he was just here at CP. We should have swooped for both him and Eze then and "let it all work out".

Not surprisingly, Liverpool had the most scores to win in the last minutes of the game last season. They have had 2 so far this year. "Shirley" their luck can't last the rest of this season?

What is more suprising to me is them losing a 2 goal lead. Losing what seems a solid lead has happened a lot to them. On paper they have a great defense.

It's official: Mourinho returns to Benfica, 25 years after famously leaving the club over being backed.

I don't think it's going to work however: Can this leopard change his spots this late into his career?

Citeh being held 0-0 at home by a 10-man Napoli, at HT. It does seem inevitable that brave defending that's been going on, will buckle in 2T. But then again, maybe one of Pep's Boys will do something stupid to even up the team sizes.

p.s. KdB started but had to come off early because of the red, which TBF was a little stupid by Di Lorenzo. Or you could say he had no choice but to try, against a streaking Haaland who would be 1-v-1 on the GK.

He has obviously been his own worse enemy. Its either feast or famine with him. He's ruined many good players with his mind games.

And Marcus Rashford is having a little party for his new club Barca, away at Newcastle. His 2nd goal was world class. Wonder if he's gonna be one of those players who is reborn after living within a dysfunctional environment/system for so long.

Even though we have the best defensive record, when Newcastle are on their defensive game they look as strong as we are. Watching the Barca game they were very solid before Barca score and we have an extremely tough time there.

I was very despondent Liverpool was able to break them down there. We haven't found the St. James Park cheat code yet. Hoping very much obviously that we can figure it out in a couple weeks when we go there.

But first City, which on paper seems like we should win but I am not overly optimistic. A draw would feel like a loss and if Liverpool wins and we draw it gets tougher early on. Fingers crossed.

I think Newcastles defensive game is a myth, they defend well in patches but overall in the EPL last year they leaked nearly as many goals as they scored, and their clean sheets last season came against mainly trash teams with the exception of 2 games.

And the only clean sheets last season against good teams were at home against us and Villa and they were dour, park the bus results.

And so far this year they have only kept clean sheets against Villa, Wolves and Leeds who are all relegation fodder. Liverpool comfortably put 3 past them.

What Barca did to them they won't do to us. We have far better defensive systems over the pitch let alone the talent in the back 4.

Liverpool scored 3 goals from .7xG against Newcastle. It's still early, and their other opponents were awful, but by XG they have the best defense in the league.

They were also a man down against Liverpool for virtually the entire second half.

I thought Chelsea would have started out much better based on their buys over the summer and how they played over the summer.

I still think they have a very good team on paper. They just need to gel and find the right system. Hopefully it never comes to fruition.

Mudryk is done. I wouldn't say we dodged a bullet, there is a good player in there. He went to the wrong club. I don't think he'd be any worse than Martinelli.
