Teams in Europe are more open and expansive because they back their systems and players in to win. Can't wait for Antony to score a hatty in the final and beat Chelsea.
I think this would be interesting but I'd never want to see it. Have a mini tournament of the best XI from the major leagues: EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and perhaps Ligue Un and Eredivisie. All start team from each, one game knockout. That being said, I think the world club championship is a waste of time. Interesting but a waste of time.
City held to a 0-0 draw at St. Mary's despite Haaland's return. Did not expect that against a relegated Southampton, Arsenal still up 2 points with a game in hand
Win that game in hand tomorrow and given a goal differential of +9 vs City and +12 vs Newcastle and Chelsea, the only teams realistically capable of catching Arsenal would be City and the winner of the Chelsea vs Newcastle game tomorrow. Should the Chelsea, Newcastle game end in a tie, then only City would have a shot at second place and third would be the lowest Arsenal could drop.
You mean McManaman? It's fascinating to see Madrid be so well run and have all the money and resources at their disposal to buy whoever they want, Barcelona to be a financial dumpster fire selling off their stadium and future revenues to stay afloat, and it doesn't matter because they still have La Masia.
And Forest draw at the City Ground against relegated Leicester 2-2. Doesn't look like they will take a UCL spot.
Yeah, no kidding. I was with the away fans in April 2022 when we lost 1 nil there. They scored with their only shot on goal and we couldn't finish any chances. Ugh.
In a just world Spurs lose to Bodo and United lose to them in the final, the fact that one of Spurs/United will get a European trophy is frustrating.
Former arsenal man Dan Ballard scored the game winner for Sunderland today. That puts them one step closer to the premier league. Huge.
That leap, how low he had to stoop his head, that looked like a glitched animation from a FIFA game. That header though, millimetre perfect.
I have a feeling next season is going to be very, very tight at the top. Other the usual three. It's possible to have Newcastle, Villa, Forest, Chelsea pushing the three and taking points off them home or away if not the occasional victory. Below them Palace, Brighton, Fulham, Brentford nipping here and there, the odd win or point on the clubs above them. It may be one of those seasons that there aren't going to be many 'easy' games.
The thought of Sheffield back in the league again is just gross. But if Sunderland wins, I can easily see the Prem drawing up our schedule: Away at Newcastle; far away CL destination; away at Sunderland.
