Its frustrating that we were so good the last two years against C115ty and have nothing to show for it, and Liverpool are getting a season where City have fallen off the cliff, we got completely ********ed by injuries and incompetent officiating and they are going to profit from it.

Nah legit pen. But you have to watch slowly. Ortega trips Diaz's foot as he jumps over him.

Not arguing there wasn’t contact. Here is what I saw:
    a) Diaz initiated the contact
    b) the contact was marginal and not enough to constitute an actual “foul” per laws of the game and
    c) Diaz had already started to dive and wasn’t gonna make any further involvement in the play. Therefore the contact didn’t deny him a chance to score.

Sounds correct to me. But at the same time this is 2024 officiating... The shit that qualifies for fouling contact in the box is ridiculous. As well, the shit that they let go and don't call, e.g. shirt pulling that prevents a header, is equally ridiculous.

I'm sensing some sarcasm, but don't want to just blow you off as there is some validity to your post
    .
We've discussed several times on this and match threads how the referees have a lower standard for a foul in the penalty area than the rest of the pitch. Virtually every awarded PK has the commentators making this statement: "You can see there's contact, that's a foul, that's a clear PK." This is the issue I'm attempting to point out as the rules don't state that. Yet somehow that's the accepted standard for awarding a PK (unless it's a PK for Arsenal, of course).

just because there is contact doesn’t mean a foul has been committed. Per the laws, it needs to be either excessive, careless, or reckless.

Just saw the replay of Schar’s equalizer, and the way that Kelleher pulled back from catching/punching a pretty simple cross was either supreme stupidity or (cue @The Jitty Slitter) the fix was in.

LOL obviously it was the former.

Jack Stephens of Soton got send off again today for violent contact. What a tool. This time he tugged Cucarella's hair.

Got up early to watch the last derby at Goodson Park, only to find it’s been postponed due to some crazy weather (~70mph winds and rain). The extra rest probably helps them in the short term, but could likely cause congestion to their detriment later.

It also means wins by our club our Chelsea this weekend would cut Liverpool’s lead in the table down to just 4 after being 9 pts only a few days ago.

I’m watching Brentford-Newcastle. 2-2 at the half. Weather doesn’t look to be much of a factor in that part of London. Pretty wide open and entertaining as a neutral.

May switch to CPvMC if that match looks tight in 2nd half. That’s also being played in London, and 1H highlights didn’t seem to show weather was much of a factor there either.

Nketiah's first involvement in the match is an absolutely pointless offside, 1 yard from midfield, as he's running towards his own goal.

I laugh at the sale price every time I watch him play.

City dominating possession and creating dangerous chances. Lewis just receives his 2nd yellow for a reckless challenge and is sent off in 84’.

Will be happy if CP can keep this 2-2 draw to the end. Or maybe Eddie can pull something out of nowhere…

he brought nothing but negatives. Can’t recall any positive touches or involvements. Hacked Grealish from behind for a stupid yellow in AET. That transfer looks better for us every minute.

Having a great time reading through my post history for "Nketiah," including this:

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/e...al-epl-19dec2020.2113013/page-2#post-39194568

"Nketiah is never going to be a Premier League-caliber forward."

Proud of that call from December 2020.

Also from May 2022 before we gave him that shocking contract extension:

They're sure burdened by that transfer fee now. No way he's getting minutes on this form if they hadn't invested so much.
