My understanding (willing to be corrected) is that yes, it would a 0.0 xG event. The striker has to at least take a shot even a scuffed or a blocked one.

I see @Tonerl answered your other question, which I wasn't sure about.

Thanks. Yours was a much more helpful reply than was Jitty’s. :ROFLMAO:

this is a rather long/dense article about xT, so I only read the beginning. But I did think it slightly humorous that the two early examples refer to Rob Holding and Nicolas Pepe.

Anyway xT does seem to get at what I was talking about, at least a little bit. It’s interesting that the article is from 2021 and 3 years later, there hasn’t been a whole ton of adoption of xT compared to its vastly more successful cousin xG.

But thanks for enlightening me (us).

Fox is an embarrassment. No legal way to watch this game without paying 80 bucks for Fubo

How the hell was Rodri not sent off for that?

It was already hard enough to like Spain due to Rodri and Cucureallybadhair.

Most entertaining match of the tournament so far, no surprise from the Dutch.

19 goals in 5 matches, not a lot of good defending

I don't have much interest in who wins between Slovenia and Denmark, so I am going to be petty and hope Slovenia lose because Sesko turned us down.

He has always played for the wrong club teams, but after nearly dying on the field during the last Euros, scoring today is a feel good story for Erickson.

Saka picking out Bellingham with that cross rather than Kane was 100% intentional, I don't care what anyone says about a "deflection"

Saka to Bellingham for a goal has a nice ring to it, look forward to Bellingham signing with us soon so we can see that combination scoring more often.

TAA is trash as a midfielder and Rice must wonder what he did wrong to go from spending the year playing alongside Odegaard to being stuck alongside this plodder.

Saka making these Serbian defenders question their choice of occupation

This England team is so close to being likeable, if only they had a new 9.

Serbia's best chances have come from his ******** ups and his passing is wayward. It's shoehorning someone into a role they aren't suitable for. Honestly if you had to get him in the team better off playing him as an inverted LB because he can't displace Walker.

    Saka is cooking tonight.

England decided this tournament has been far too entertaining.

Just caught up with SRB-ENG and have to say I was happy to see Saka quite at it. Lively, dangerous and relatively fit. At least for most of 1T. He was taken off at 75’ so he’s apparently not fully fit yet. With luck, he’ll get there well before the conclusion for ENG.

TAA is trash in CM, and Foden isn't good at LW.
Fodens best form has been at RW but as we saw tonight Saka generates more and was a problem all night.

But then you have a donkey as a manager and this is what you get.
Foden isn't a natural LW, TAA keeps failing in CM. You can persist with Foden at LW and hope he comes good but they would have been better off when they subbed Saka putting Foden on the right and bringing Gordon on, who you know, actually plays LW on.
Or maybe they should have taken Grealish, also a natural LW.
