Yeah Arsenal were mitigating the risk by putting him on low wages and including a lot of add-ons in the fee. If he flopped, he could easily be sold. Then Chelsea came in with a stupid offer and Arsenal pivoted to Trossard, who isn't Martinelli-ish and has less upside but has clearly been a quality addition.
Shots fired Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. NFFC will now consider its options.— Nottingham Forest (@NFFC) April 21, 2024
Mark Clattenburg earning his paycheck again? ps. That said, one of the penalty shouts was a rather clear handball I thought
Of the FA cup semi, I’ve only seen the scoreline and the goals. For anyone who is actually watching, I wonder how is Haji Wright playing? Is he getting any service? Edit: he scores the 95’ equalizer PK!
Iwobi seems to be doing his level best to help us out today. He’s had several near assists and just pre-assisted Fulham’s equalizer. Much appreciated Alex!!
Yeah, Haji nearly at the heart of more amazing drama. Onto penalty shootout. Maybe he’ll have something to say there?
Having seen the replays of the incidents, two are in the debatable category. The third is less so, but an offense usually needs to involve firearms for Anthony Taylor to give a penalty.
Though shaky, 10Hag now has 3 finals in 2 yeaes to his name. I don't envy United's situation. But we've got to get better in cups. We have enough quality to do so. What Rio said last year about winning the Carabao Cup while we came second, leading to them having a better season is still something the fans keep brining up now that they're in a final to their credit.
To be fair Pool look in trouble and I don't think they are winning the title. Its down to Man City and us, because I think we will find a way to win our last 6 and it will come down to City dropping points. I feel like Pool will likely drop a game, at the very least draw somewhere.
At this point Man City are clear favourites, then Arsenal then Liverpool because if you haven't noticed Arsenal have a significant GD over Liverpool. Man City just need to win their remaining games and they are champions. Arsenal need to just match Liverpools results, and need Man City to draw or lose and they are champions. Liverpool need BOTH an Arsenal loss and Man City to lose/draw their game in hand. And since they have a significantly worse GD than Arsenal and a worse GD than Man City they would then need Man City, if they only draw their game in hand, not to outscore them in the run in. Now compare the teams they play in the run in. Arsenal have 2 teams outside the top 10 to increase their GD. Man City have 3. Liverpool have 2, but one of those is a derby (last 3 results were 2-0, 2-0 and 0-0). So Pool have a harder run in AND have the least opportunity to rack up goals against shit teams. There is a reason all the bookies, and the footy sites, all have Man City as overwhelming favourites to win the league with Arsenal next best. Its been that way since City got a draw at Liverpool. A Pool win made them league favourites, a City win or a draw made City favourites. Each above scenario had Arsenal a close second regardless.
Arsenal are 12-1-1 in league play in 2024, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility. It’s an outside shot, but it’s a shot. Bayern on the other hand have no shot at their league title.
Hey look go easy on them, it must be hard supporting a club that despite ruining there league stealing talent already has to suffer the embarrassment of both handing Bayer Neverlosin' an easy title despite Kanes goalscoring record, but potentially seeing them go undefeated as well. Kane was at the Invincibles parade as a kid, now he gets to see Germanys Unbesiegbaren as an adult.
Speaking of… Leverkusen with another injury, time escape, to preserve their invincibles record. Can they do it?? Only Bayern trolls are rooting against them I suppose.
A bit of early drama at Goodison. Penalty awarded to DCL and yellow card to Allison, but both overruled by VAR's offside call. Pool dodges bullet. Then a few minutes later a goalmouth block by Godfrey denies Salah a goal. Looks like it might be a lively match. Let's just pray the liveliness is in Everton's favor.
