    FT Arsenal Women 1-0 Juventus

For 2 straight matches: narrow 1 goal win, thanks to early goal by Viv Meidema. BUT this one was quite a bit less convincing than the last. Let's assume it was the opposition: Juve > Everton? Still I get the sense that we're struggling, and just squeaking out wins, while our rivals have been flying high with blowout wins.

On a positive front, Leah Williamson got 60' and then was replaced by her partner Rafaella Souza who got 30'. Saw some rust on Leah so maybe we've got a few games to go until they're back to their old dominant selves... hopefully.

Also, we're top of our UCL group with a pretty commanding lead after 4 games, so next time we might clinch.

Wow, I actually like Jack Black, but holy crap that entire clip was utterly unwatchable. That's saying something given Amanda Peet is half naked throughout.

well, if you haven't seen the movie it probably doesn't make sense, him and Steve Zahn are great together.

I'm positive I saw the movie. In my 20s.
Also Amanda Peet is excellent in The Whole Nine Yards

Just caught up on Aston Villa 1-4 Arsenal Women, from earlier this morning.

We went down by a goal relatively early but immediately looked like we were gonna score to come back. And that we did.

We always looked vastly superior, especially in our passing. The result rarely in doubt, and we increased our GD by a bit.… which secured sole second place in the table.

Jonas again split time between our 2 best CB’s, but this time in the inverse: Rafaela got 60’ and Williamson got 30’. And looked much sharper.

Now we get a full week break in the league but have 2 UCL games to play this month.

Moreso that you spend mad money on players who aren't worth that.

Just got back to catch the end of Arsenal Women vs Lyon. It's 0-1 at 58' Continuing our iffy form of late?

Still plenty of time and I can tell they're pushing for it. E.g. Leah Williamson has moved up from the backline to MF and beyond.

It's on Youtube DAZN if you're interested.

    FT AWFC 0-1 Lyon

They get a bit of revenge for the absolute whoopin' we gave them at their place. We're both tied on 10pts, and because it was only a 1 goal game, we retain first place by GD.

AND we qualify for the QF's, with one more game to play and thus a chance to clinch first.

Can't really say how we played in the game overall since I only caught the last 30 mins or so. But only one SOG is a bit concerning.

No doubt we're missing Beth Mead (out for season w/ ACL). And, thought I didn't catch it live, it seems Viv Miedema came off on a stretcher crying, with possibly the same type of injury. VERY. BAD. (except that the 2 GF's can now rehab together?!)

Both men's and women's teams are now without their offensive stars.

Yeah, Tim Stillman's tweets from the match about Viv feared the worst. Sucks.

By the way, I nominate you to start a thread solely dedicated to our women's team. They deserve to have their own thread instead of being lumped in with "other" teams.

    Touchee!

I do of course agree that AWFC deserve a dedicated thread. BUT frankly the level of actual dialogue about the women's team on this board is so low that I wasn't sure such a thread would end up being any much more than me talking to myself. (no snide responses to that please!)

Anyone else care to second Yoss's motion?

I'd try to chime in when I can. I wasn't just needling you. I honestly think it's worthwhile.
