Yeah. He was a bit of a meh player in the end. I remember one of his early games vs Bayern, he was so poor with his first touch i couldn't believe he even had a contract with Arsenal. He improved, but never really learned to play midfield properly. Ironically the current era of football would really suit him as a pressing 8.5, but again Wumger.
Maybe if Shawcross doesn’t break his leg he doesn’t have the hamstring problems that plagued his career. But given his fragile hamstrings, he would have been on the shelf even more often as a pressing 8.5. In the end the 400k per week is nice compensation for the career that could have been, I don’t begrudge him that, especially since Arsenal didn’t have to pay it.
Tbh, with Newcastle being purchased even the combined might of TH14's commentary, Uncle IW8 showing up everywhere , and PV4's CP aren't keeping my interested in European football. I might just simp hard for TFC and wait until I have a kid, it's getting unbearable.
seriously. and, i mean, i grew up during the era that saw the attack on monica seles so all the sanctimonious assholes can go get fucked.
League 1 playoff final HT: Sunderland 1-0 Wycombe From Sky broadcast: "That's Ross Stewart, not Ros Stewart, but he wears it well..." Edit:. TalkSport, not Sky.
Cracking goal. Not sure if the reason it went in was more down to ferocity or speed and swerve... or... GK error. And how about that bizarre HT "show" where they replayed the first 15mins of the program (pregame/anthem/lineups/etc). WTF. Luckily they came back to live pictures right before 2T KO.
Oh the irony of it all. La Liga (doing Real Madrid’s dirty work) to file a complaint about PSG resigning Mbappe after reporting huge loses over the last couple of seasons. They are right of course, but Madrid and Barcelona started this Arms race. Now they’re complaining when oil money has negated their economic advantage. https://theathletic.com/news/la-liga-mbappe-psg-complaint/O4nFU63TyxQx/
Was just about to mention that myself. Funny that Real and Barca could bully teams into letting players transfer to their club but now openly complain when it's done unto them.
Of course the real losers in all of this are teams like Arsenal This will lead to more cost inflation, and teams that aren't feasting on fat CL revenues e.g Real & Liverpool are the least able to pay without incurring debt Unlucky stan!
This is also why Utd are shit. They can't rely on stealing Rio, Rooney and Carrick within a couple of years to form the spine of their team.
the best part, at least for me, was they were apparently in the driver seat for haaland but chose to put him off to chase mbappe. :-D
Would have been quite embarrassing for Qatar to lose on of their PSG superstars just 6 months before they host the World Cup. Well played by Mbappe, he's going to be a very wealthy man.
I'm fine - i find it amusing that the evil teams can't afford anyone good because of Genocide FC, Bone Saw FC, Human Rights FC etc
His last couple of years (post injury) have been fantastic. Any team would be extremely blessed to have him in their squad.
