I just wanted to congratulate you guys. You are deserving champions. Your players played their hearts out, the stadium atmosphere was awesome.... You deserve it. I am listening to angry music right now... because I am overly invested in my team (emotionally) lol... but i just hope you guys appreciate it as much as you should.
Thanks dude. Trust me, we know what it's like to lose games like this. We are celebrating like we won the World Cup.
Thank you. I don't understand why everyone else in the MLS calls you guys assholes. Everyone I met at the game was respectful and very invested. Congrats for being finalist.
I think it's the ones who always comment on-line that prove themselves to be the assholes. Seattle is a very good team with great fans, but the handful who are always acting high and mighty are the ones who give the rest a bad name.
Entirely this, except it's more than just a handful. But everyone I talked to from Seattle during and after the match were great and I think it's great for them and for the league that there's traveling support like that.
Part of it, I think, is that the sheer volume of MLS followers on FB allows people anonymity and unaccountability. Most posters on high-volume comment threads don't read any but the few most recent comments in the thread before posting, don't read the thread at all after posting, and don't expect anyone else to do either of those things. Hence wall comments that read more like bathroom graffiti, even from people who are otherwise kind and considerate individuals.
Big congratulations to the Sporks and their fans (especially the Cauldron)! It is exciting just watching your whole franchise set new standards in gametime atmosphere, stadium design, in-stadium technology, etc. Of course, it's great to have a winning side to go with all that. I love the fact that young guys get real playing time on your team and not just garbage minutes. Your coach has the vision to let them learn and develop and contribute -- all at the same time. And thank you for keeping Seattle humble. Their heads had gotten way too big.
