The sharks are circling for Angelo Stiller. Arsenal and Barcelona are the two in the lead and each could trigger his €36.5m release clause. Bayern Munich are pissed because he used to be on their books, and now they are loaded in midfield and, thus, cannot justify buying another one.
Now Marca are reporting that Real Madrid are very interested in Stiller at the recommendation of Toni Kroos. RM want to bring in some team players who don't have the massive press (ala Mbappe) and, thus, won't cost a fortune. Still, VfB should be able to command a top-level price for their playmaker.
As a VfB fan, I hope that he would want to stay with VfB, but if he's determined to go for the higher paycheck, then I hope they gouge those M-Fers for every Euro they can!
Now a Spanish site is reporting that Atletico Madrid are interested in Nick Woltemade. It seems like a VfB player can barely have a breakout season and the $illy money club$ come around. It would be nice if players could begin to see VfB as a top side and, thus, an apex squad to play for. The same site states that Angelo Stiller has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid; now the two clubs have to negotiate a transfer price. The deal would be until 2030.
VfB are getting enquires from Chelsea, Everton, Brighton, Arsenal, Liverpool, and West Ham United for Nick Woltemade. This in addition to the usual suspects (Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Barcelona). On the other hand, VfB are also one of several Bundesliga clubs trying to bring Noah Darvich back to Germany. He left for the Barcelona reserves in 2023 for €2.5m, but needs first team football now. (Did he think he could play for the Barcelona first team? They buy the "Flavor-of-the-Year" every season and that doesn't include players from their reserve squad.) Darvich is an Iraqi attcking midfielder.
Werder Bremen are said to be eyeing a move to revive Sasa Kalajdzic's career, which was sidelined by 14 months with an ACL tear.
Stuttgart are among the potential suitors for Norwegian attacking midfielder Tobias Fjeld Gulliksen. The Bundesliga outfit continues to prepare for the likely departure of Enzo Millot. Gulliksen has raised his profile at Swedish first division side Djurgårdens IF and could be available for around €5m.
VfB are said to be preparing a €6m bid for Salis Abdul Samed. He is a Ghanaian midfielder with RC Lens, who was on loan at Sunderland last season. Unfortuately, due to injury, he only played 320 minutes. He did play for the Ghana NT at the Qatar World Cup.
I don't know if this is good or bad... https://www.getfootballnewsgermany....o-rb-salzburg-collapses-after-failed-medical/
NIgerian striker Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare, is wanted by VfB along with a couple other clubs. He is currently with KRC Genk and won the Belgian Golden Shoe for leading the league with 23 goals (also 5 assists). If VfB do pick him up, we're going to have to come up with a shorter name, eh?
VfB were successful in signing 18-yo Noah Darvich from Barcelona. Attacking midfielder signed until 2029.
Bayern Munich are casting their greedy eyes now on Nick Woltemade. They haven't made a concrete offer to VfB yet but were stating in the press that they won't pay more than €50m, whereas VfB rate him at €80m. Big gap. Real Madrid have, methinks, given up on Angelo Stiller, but now he is on the wish list of Inter Milan as a replacement for Calhanoglu. Stuttgart need to get to the point where they are not a selling club and waypoint for youngsters heading to the bright lights. VfB needs to BE the bright lights.
If Stiller were to leave, midfield engine that he is, Sevilla's Djibril Sow has been floated as his replacement. At age 28, Sow may be looking for one final, major career move.
I hope that Scheiss Bayern can have the life fined out of them for "tapping up" Woltemade. They apparently have agreed with him, on a personal contract, without first seeking VfB's permission to negotiate! That's completely illegal and they should not be allowed to get away with shit like that!
Yeah, I just now saw that news item while browsing my daily transfer news sites. Red Star Belgrade tends to get the best Serbian players and he sounds like a very good prospect.
VfB are poised to cancel the contracts of two injury-prone players, Silas Katompa and Juan Jose Perea. Both went out on loan last season, to Red Star Belgrade and Hansa Rostock, respectively. If they can't find buyers for the two, then they will simply cancel their contracts.
Stuttgart have outpaced regional rivals Hoffenheim in the race to acquire young attacking prospect Deniz Zeitler. The 18-year-old scored eight goals and registered five assists for 3. Liga outfit FC Ingolstadt 04 last season. They will assign him to the VfB reserve side which plays in 3.B.
It looks like the sale of Anrie Chase to BS Leipzig is back on. There will be a €2m base transfer fee
