Now that we're in the Champions League, what will happen in the off-season? Will we be able to keep Führich, Guirassy, and/or Undav? Who are likely replacements? Pre-season, and 2024/2025 First-half in-season Posts here! VfB!
AC Milan are one of the clubs that is very interested in Serhou Guirassy. VfB have identified three Milan defenders who could come in the opposite direction: Jan-Carlo Simic, Pierre Kalulu, and Malick Thiaw. Milan are also interested in VfB defender Hiroki Ito. If Stuttgart are truly a top-class club, then they should be able to keep most of their stars for the Champions League campaign.
VfB have already signed another goalkeeper, Stefan Drljaca, from 3.B side Dynamo Dresden. He is 1.92m in height and only 25 years in age. BTW, Teak has been following Energie Cottbus for several years, ever since they were in 1.B. They dropped all the way down into the Regional League (Nordost) where they were mired for several seasons. Last year the won the Nordost group, but lost in the promotion playoffs. However this season they won Nordost again and are going directly UP to 3.B. Hey, you heard it here FIRST!
News report: Chris Führich is "leaning" towards joining Bayern "We Buy Our Competition" Munich. Why he wants to leave the 2nd place club for a lower club I do not understand. Transfer fee likely around €25-30m.
And 1.FC Köln defender Julian Chabot is said to be likely to join VfB Stuttgart for the next season. The 26-year-old played 32 matches for Köln (2,708 minutes) last season.
Stuttgart have activated the buy options on loanees Leonidas Stergiou and Jamie Leweling. Sky Germany is reporting that VfB "have deals for Werder Bremen’s Nick Woltemade, 1.FC Köln Justin Diehl and SC Freiburg’s Yannik Keitel all lined up and ready to be announced. All these players will add much-needed depth to the squad as they prepare for Champions League football next season."
I'm a little leary about defenders from AC. I'm not sure if it was their defense or goalkeepers, but they shipped quite a few goals that they shouldn't have.
Chabot is done as of this morning: https://www.vfb.de/en/vfb/latest/news/professionals/2324/verpflichtung-jeff-chabot/ I'm all on board with @Teak: if we're going to be a serious, world-class club (as we should want to be), we're going to have to demonstrate an ability to keep our best players. It's going to be a challenge. We know Bayern is going to come hard for Führich, and Milan has money to spend if they really want Guirassy and/or Ito. And we can be sure someone is going to be sniffing around for Deniz Undav. This is the time for some organizational fortitude.
Let's not forget VfB II are promoted with them. Them and Dortmund II are the only reserve teams in the BL.3 And looking at Die Zweite, let's see which big clubs managed to get out: Schalke 10th. Now that is a serious rebuild. HSV 4th. 6th year in BL.2 finishing 4th four times and 3rd twice. At least they won't lose a playoff this year! Hannover 6th Yeah, none of them made it. St Pauli and Holstein Kiel are coming up.
Fulham of the $illy Money EPL have submitted an €8m bid to buy Silas Mvumpa from Stuttgart. VfB are reported to want at least €16m.
It's time for VfB to step up and extend & increase contracts, so we're not left holding the bag when guys start leaving.
Stuttgart are one of several clubs interested in taking winger Omari Hutchinson on loan from Chel$ea. He spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town and helped them get promoted back to the Premier League. The 20-year-old scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists across 44 matches. In addition to VfB and Ipswich, two Dutch clubs (Ajax and Feyenoord) are also interested in Hutchinson.
Now it is being reported that Borussia Dortmund are eyeing the release clause in Waldemar Anton's contract. At €22.5m, Dortmund figure that they can afford it.
AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich are all interested in trying to get Serhou Guirassy for his €18-20m release clause value. Given that there are quite a few clubs wanting Serhou, perhaps VfB need to get a bidding war going. For his production the last two seasons, valuations in the range of €40-60m are more in line.
One candidate for striker that Stuttgart are looking at is Uruguayan Martin Satriano. His contract is owned by Inter Milan but they don't see a place for him and sent him out on loan for several seasons. Last seaon, on loan at Brest in the French first division, he helped them reach the Champions League with their 3rd place finish. He had 4 goals and 4 assists for them across 33 league matches. However, Inter have put a €10m price tag on him. Ouch! That is €2.5m per goal. Transfermarkt puts his value at €7m so there is likely negotiating room.
Tottenham have their eyes on both Chris Führich and Hiroki Ito. Does the Black Hole every develop their own talent? And Arsenal want Maximilian MIttelstadt.
Another shark sighting. Hansi Flick, the new Barcelona trainer, has cast his eye upon Angelo Stiller for the defensive midfielder position. Flick worked with Stiller before, at Bayern. Speculation is that at least €25m would be required to pry him away from VfB. Sigh. Unless you are one of the Richie Rich clubs, success one season means a stripping away of the talent before the next season.
<Fill in your favorite swear word HERE> Bayern signed Hiroki Ito! The transfer fee wasn’t made public but German magazine Kicker reported Bayern had met a release clause for an initial €23m ($25 million) plus possible add-on fees. Another report states that the release clause was €30m.
Bayer Leverkusen might be the new squad for Waldemar Anton. The good news is that VfB are putting a €50m price tag on Angelo Stiller to keep him in Stuttgart. Even $illy money Barcelona can't afford that given their financial restrictions.
VfB are taking on loan 22-year-old Fabian Rieder from Stade Rennais, an attacking midfielder. He is Swiss and played only 355 minutes for Rennes last season (1 goal). Prior to that, he was with Young Boys and scored 10 goals across 3 seasons.
Another bit of transfer gossip comes from the Feyenoord forum on another site. (Feyenoord is my main club.) VfB are interested in buying defender Ramon Hendriks, who came up through the Feyenoord youth development system and was out on loan last season. I don't know why Feyenoord doesn't give him an extensive runout in the first team, but they want to look elsewhere, I guess. Considering how quickly Hiroki Ito developed under the VfB system (coming from J.2 League), I think that this would be a good buy.
Serhou Guirassy is leaving for Borussia Dortmund. At least it's not Scheiss Bayern. https://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten...den.4ef60eb1-0e93-4d6e-b2ea-d23efd24279e.html
Here is the (translated) Transfer Ticker from the Stuttgarter Nachrichten as of 06/24/24: This is what Fabian Wohlgemuth says about the situation on the transfer market 08:11 June 19, 2024 The players of VfB Stuttgart are highly sought after and highly sought after on the transfer market. No wonder, after all, they have developed rapidly with the club. In addition, some of them can be had for manageable sums due to various clauses. VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth, who will be promoted to sports director at VfB on July 1, knows this. "The euphoria that arose from DFB nominations, the runner-up title or many rousing performances only describes one side. We are now increasingly dealing with the consequences of our collective overperformance last season," says Wohlgemuth. "Where quality is created and growing, there are quickly many interested parties, often with economic arguments that we cannot counter. This will inevitably lead to changes in our squad." The Berliner is not particularly impressed by this, however, but looks ahead with confidence: "There is no sitting back for us after an outstanding season. We have to find new ways and creative solutions again." Frans Krätzig is to be presented this week 08:25 - 06/26/2024 VfB Stuttgart is continuing to work hard on its squad. According to information from our editorial team, the announcement of the next new player is just a formality. Frans Krätzig (21) is coming to VfB Stuttgart from FC Bayern. The youngster for the left, defensive wing was most recently loaned from Munich to Austria Vienna and is now joining Stuttgart. He is to act as a back-up for Maximilian Mittelstädt, putting a lot of pressure on the established national player. After the final formalities have been clarified, the signing will soon be official. Krätzig is to be presented in Stuttgart this week. The deal with FCB is set up as a loan with a purchase option, which Bayern should be able to counter next summer. Next week he is expected in Stuttgart for the start of training (July 4). Media report: VfB Stuttgart interested in Füllkrug 08:23 - 06/25/2024 According to a media report, there could be a spectacular striker swap between runner-up VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund. As the TV broadcaster Sky reported on Tuesday, VfB is said to have found out about the situation of Dortmund's national soccer player Niclas Füllkrug. His contract with Bundesliga rival Borussia runs until June 30, 2026. The goal scorer of the 1-1 final score in Germany's third European Championship group game against Switzerland on Sunday could become Serhou Guirassy's successor in Stuttgart. The Swabians' top scorer has decided to move. In addition to Champions League finalist Dortmund, international clubs such as AC Milan, Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC are also said to be interested in the Guinean national player. The exit clause in his contract is around 20 million euros. VfB captain and defensive leader Waldemar Anton is also set to move to Borussia. VfB signs Cottbus striker Nico Willig 09:05 - 06/24/2024 According to information from our editorial team, VfB Stuttgart has secured the services of Collin Kroll-Thiel for the next two years. The striker (17) comes to the Neckar from FC Energie Cottbus. Kroll-Thiel played in 20 games in the U17 Bundesliga for FCE last season, scoring 19 goals and providing five assists. Tino Kaufmann comes from VSG Altglienicke 08:33 June 24, 2024 The man for the offensive wing is strengthening VfB Stuttgart II with immediate effect and is signing for two years on the Neckar. Now official: VfB signs Glück from 1860 07:26 June 24, 2024 What our editorial team was able to report last week has now been officially confirmed: Michael Glück (21) is joining VfB Stuttgart. The youngster has been shown the prospect of joining the professional squad and is set to replace Anrie Chase. The American-Japanese will most likely be loaned out, and there are several interested parties. Does VfB have Ramon Hendriks on its radar? 04:59 June 24, 2024 According to Dutch media reports, VfB Stuttgart is said to have sounded out Ramon Hendriks. The center-back (22, left-footed) has a contract with Feyernoord Rotterdam until 2026 and was most recently loaned to Vitesse Arnhem. VfB is said to have already made Feyernoord an offer for Hendriks. Laurin Ulrich on loan to Ulm 08:09 June 18, 2024 Now it's official: VfB is loaning young star Laurin Ulrich to SSV Ulm 1846 for one season. Due to various injuries, the offensive player has only played once in the top flight of football so far. The 19-year-old is expected to gain as much match practice as possible with the second division newcomers from Ulm. No decision on Anton yet, Leverkusen is courting intensively 04:01 June 18, 2024 According to information from our editorial team and contrary to media reports to the contrary, VfB captain Waldemar Anton has not yet made a final decision to leave VfB Stuttgart. The defensive leader, who is currently on his way to Stuttgart with the DFB squad to prepare for the international match against Hungary, is being courted particularly intensively by Bayer 04 Leverkusen. According to information from our editorial team, Anton is being offered a three-year contract with double the salary. In addition, Anton is to take on the role of defensive leader, which will become vacant under the Bayer cross due to the impending move of Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich. The contact is said to have been made by B04 coach Xabi Alonso, among others. Is something going on with Adam Karabec? 09:46 June 14, 2024 According to media reports, VfB Stuttgart is looking to sign midfielder Adam Karabec (20, Sparta Prague). VfB is apparently preparing an offer. Karabec, part of the gang with which Sparta Prague won the championship last season, is at home in central, attacking midfield and still has a contract with the Czechs until June 2025. If the Spartans want to cash in on their highly talented youngsters, now would be the right time. Sparta recently sold Ladislav Krejc, another young pillar of the championship team, to FC Girona. Fayad, Catamo, Elia, and Puertas - these names are circulating 07:49 June 14, 2024 Geny Catamo (23, winger, Sporting Lisbon), Khalil Fayad (20, midfield, HSC Montpellier), Cameron Puertas (25, striker, St. Gilloise) and Meschack Elia (26, striker, YBB) are currently being linked with VfB Stuttgart. According to information from our editorial team, none of the four players have been dealt with in the long term in the White-Reds camp. In any case, VfB is currently taking a wait-and-see approach, as little movement is expected in the market during the European Championship. However, they currently have to deal with a number of offers for central defenders that are being proactively offered in Stuttgart after the Ito transfer. But here too, there is no need for action at the moment. Does Brighton have an RKO for Undav? 05:01 June 14, 2024 There has been no movement in the Deniz Undav transfer for weeks. So far, so unusual given the player's statements in the recent past. "I told everyone clearly what I wanted: I want to stay here," said the striker in reference to VfB - actually a clear matter when it comes to transfer issues these days. The player and his agent have the upper hand compared to the clubs. If the player wants something, he gets it. And usually without much ado. But probably not in this case. Because Brighton has apparently secured a buy-back option. This is reported by "kicker". This RKO is said to be the thing that is currently slowing down the deal. Because even if VfB exercises and pays for the agreed purchase option, the English can still buy the player back during this transfer phase and then possibly resell him again at a higher price. In view of the increase in value that Undav will probably experience as a result of his appearances at the European Championships, this is an obvious plan. VfB, for its part, must now weigh things up carefully. Either they try to play for time - or they use the funds made available by the sale of Ito and try to buy the RKO from Brighton. By paying the delta. Massimo goes to Fürth 08:44 06/13/2024 Roberto Massimo's contract with VfB Stuttgart expires on June 30th - and will not be extended. Now the winger has found a new club. The 23-year-old will play for second division club SpVgg Greuther Fürth. "With his offensive skills, his speed and his willingness to run, Roberto will be an option on both wings, but also gives us new options in the central area," said Kleeblatt coach Alexander Zorniger, once head coach at VfB. Massimo played for Stuttgart from 2018, but was also loaned to Portugal in the second division.
