VfB went down 1-0 away to FC Mainz, but then came storming back to win 1-4. Endo scoring off a ping pong ball in the box, Guirassy from Fuhrich assist, Fuhrich goal from Endo assist, and finally Fuhrich slide ball sideways for Coulibaly to slot home.

Win raises them up out of the relegation zone, and tied for 15th, but ahead of Bochum on goal differential. VfB control their chance now, playing Hoffenheim at home next week.

Did you guys see Vagnoman's miss vs Leverkusen? They referenced it during the Mainz game, and I looked it up. Good Lord they threw away the points there. He's within arms reach of the goal and he put's it wide under no pressure. Let's hope it doesn't cost them.

Yeah, I saw it. All I could do was shake my head. That kind of miss makes me think of match-fixing.

We'll see what happens on Saturday.

Bayer Leverkusen sit in final European league spot (6th), one point ahead of Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg play already-relegated Hertha Berlin so Bayer likely have to win their match against Bochum to keep that spot.

And VfB host Hoffenheim. A win keeps us out of Bochum's relegation playoff spot. And they have to play Bayer who want to remain in 6th.

I think we're good to go this weekend. Those matches should be competitive.

VfB doesn't get the job done, drawing 1-1 with Hoffenheim in Stuttgart. Bochum pulled out an impressive 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen to leapfrog up and out of the relegation zone.

Not surprisingly, Borussia Dortmund threw away their chance to win the Bundesliga and allowed Bayern Munich to win for the 12th or 13th or 14th year in a row. Who is keeping count anymore anyway?

Tiago Tomas with an 80' minute goal to tie the match, and then wasted a couple of chances to win the match. Endo assist. On to the relegation/2.B promotion playoff.

    Goals-Assists
    Guirassy 11 - 0
    Endo 5 - 4
    Sosa 2 - 7
    Silas 5 - 2
    Führich 5 - 2
    Tomas 3 - 3
    Coulibaly 4 - 0
    Vagnoman 2 - 2
    Ahamada 2 - 2
    Mavropanos 2 - 1
    Anton 1 - 2
    Ito 1 - 1
    Hariguchi 0 - 2
    Dilas 1 - 0
    Perea 1 - 0
    Karazor 0 - 1

Tomorrow we'll find out who VfB have to play for the relegation/promotion set of matches.

2.B season ends tomorrow with all squads playing at the same time. Here is the pertinent table section:

    1. Darmstadt 67 points
    2. Heidenheim 64 points
    3. Hamburg 63 points

VfB will play either Hamburg or Heidenheim. The top two go straight up, 3rd plays VfB.

I started watching Bochum, because I couldn't get a working VfB stream. Leverkusen got a red card 7 minutes in. It wasn't even a tackle. It was retaliation. Absolute gift. You can't count on anybody anymore.

Then, I saw us make twice as many chances and only score one. They needn't have bothered, as one point counted for nothing.

First leg of the playoff at home on Thurs. (Jun 1)
Return leg the following Monday (Jun 5), probably HSV, and unfortunately there is hardly any gap between the top 3. We'll face a tough team regardless. Maybe we'll show up.

HSV confirmed. It would be embarrassing if we lose to them, but so sweet if we send them back to the BL.2 :ROFLMAO:
