VfB Stuttgart- 06/07 thread(R)

And another positive result:

Stuttgart's U19 team won the DaimlerChrysler Junior Cup.

Our team beat Kaiserslautern in the final with 3-0. Other participants were among others: AS Monaco, defending champion FC Schalke 04, Red Bull Salzburg and Werder Bremen.

 

The good results keep rolling in. We just won the final against Offenbach. End result was 3-2. Stuttgart's goals were scored by Hitzelsperger (2) and Gerber.
So now we secured the second indoor tournament win within 48 hours

 

Congrats for winning 2 indoor tournaments! Your guys were simply the best in the hall.

you need GolTV to watch Bundesliga games. They show several a week and I've caught several VfB games this way.

So, honestly, what does winning an indoor tournament do for us? Is it just exercise? Is there prize money? Do we qualify for the UEFA Indoor Chapions League now?

 

Well, basically it's just for the fun of it. There is some prize money, but it's only like 15,000€, so it's hardly worth the hassle.
But people like it. In Mannheim the turney was sold out and 15,000 people were watching even though it was "only" an indoor turney with no importance at all.

 

Thanx. I had a small talk with Gentner (with Roberto as well, of course, whom I asked how long he's been playing indoor football. Really amazing 2 goals scored by him "durch die Bande"!

I was chatting with Armin, too, and reminded him of the moment when he was celebrated like a real hero in Fürth after the promotion '97.

It was a really friendly atmosphere between the Fürth & Vfb fans (there had been about 50-60 Stuttgart supporters in the hall). Roberto was cheered the whole time and both fanships started a "Stuttgart - Fürth" Wechselgesang after Nuremberg was screwed 7:1 by the arch rival from Fürth.

In the final, the FCN fans (most of them left the hall already before) cheered for your team ... however, not due to any sympathies but cause they feared that the small "Westvorstadt" could win the tournament.

This guy seems to be always right. After the 2nd league game "Fürth vs Rostock" (Roberto was at Playmobil stadium) he told me that Stuttgart would get a win in Bremen and promised to score at least 1 goal...

 

I expected Hertha to reach the home final this time ... but now it's gonna be very, very tough in my eyes.
