Vegas left Vegas for his Christmas and New Years, which meant more Turkey for the rest of us, though we missed his wife's tradtional casserole. And being that he's the only one in LV with FSC, I'm having to catch up on replays.

Watching the first few 30 minutes of EV-LI, I nominate Tim Cahill as Dog #2 of the season. It's shocking--he looks again like the lower-league player he was, like a one-year wonder whose touch is second-class. Not as disappointing as Ronaldo considering the huge expectations on CR's girlish shoulders, but lower quality on the whole. His flailing tackle on Alonso after giving away the ball stupidly was a great example of layering hot-headed silliness over incompetence. And I really liked the kid last season.

Another Bolton match postponed. First fog and now this. Thanks weather gods for tanking me for another matchday.

My GK is a Bolton guy and his backup is a Boro guy so a big zero points there. I had 2 other Bolton players in the lineup, a blackeyed rover, and a Charlton guy. With them all getting zeros, it be nice to have some subs come in. Shame that my bench already had two injured guys on it. So that means I get 4 fat zeros from my squad yesterday.

At least Rooney (capt) and J.Cole scored. Yay! ;)

I had Friedel and the inexplicably benched Filan as GK, so also took big zeroes there. Also I made my one weekly transfer to pick up Emerton. Luckily my bench more or less covered, although Pires only played 9 minutes and would have been on the bench were it not for cancellations. So my 56 points in that much better! 24 captains' points from Reyes saved the day for what should be a gold medal week for LSG,

The lucky role continues. Missed nothing to the dropped games. How long can it last???? The world wants to know. OK, alittle over-dramatic.

Here's some combined stats for the two Rocks Leagues that show the number of trades and the points lost through trades in excess of the free weekly trade. It also shows the total team value and the latest team scores, with the Actim bonuses still to be added for the 12/31 games.

All data is as of 12/31/2005 games less the Actim bonuses:

Happy New Year everyone. In a few minutes the vsrocks shingus will be back up to date. So let me continue my debate with myself in public. Forget Ronaldo and Cahill being busts, because having lurked on this forum and heard it, they both up and scored and thus passed the mantle to the Sean Wright-Phillips, who was the biggest dog all along but was too small to be noticed.

Actually vsrocks will be up to date regarding rosters, but bonuses aren't in yet so the scores won't be right until Thursday or Friday.

Poor kid Ramage bonked his achilles. So it's either a tough-guy defensive Ocker versus Portsmouth or a poster-boy winger Ocker versus Bolton. I chose the defender. Now the question is: who's got the gamble to sign Kewell?

Since I am flipping players faster than fast Harry, might as well get one of his players:

Boy. The team's flying, I go away for three days, I come back and it's a full-blown benching epidemic. On the other hand I'd written Giggs off, assuming someone would have taken him by the time I got back. The Kewell gambler will be me, since he's been starting regularly and Garcia's only playing about 30 minutes in a lot of games lately. And finally it's a coincidence that sees me with so much transfer money available on Jan 1, not some desperate hope that Shevchenko's signing for Sunderland tomorrow...

    OUT:
    Pires 9.4
    Garcia 8.5
    Brown 5.1

    IN:
    Giggs 9.0
    Kewell 7.4

And there goes Kewell, right on cue!

Dayum, what a blast of wind from New Mexico that was. Sure you're done? I hear the younger Wright-Phillips is pushing Andy Cole... ;)

Wanted to make that move but unfortunatly he is still just shy of hitting the "you must be over this line to ride..." mark.

How injury ridden has CDS been, well Sourness called and thanked me for making him feel fortunate.

After Fulham gets through with Sunderland look forward to the sequel of the Great (well a bit better than medicore
    then) Striker Search

Mr. "X", would you please call another one or two of my players the busts of the season. Cahill got riled.

If only I had picked the right Fulham striker to start today

If only Mr "X" I thought you were referring to my unique wit rather than my player transfer policy.

Does the "Nuno Ricardo Oliveira Ribeiro Dome" have the same marketing pizzaz as the "DuffDome", hmmm?
