Per PM instructions, Brian, Captain Splarg selects Wei Feng 3.0 defender for Everton as his last pick.

    LOLOLOLOLOL

    ROFLMAO

We just have Clanblue to make his last midfielder pick and Outback Maverick to make his last defender pick.

Letting out a huge sigh of relief and hoping Jonathan doesn't take out a contract on me.

    Nite all.

    Near Final Draft Summary

Near Final Draft Summary. All but the last def pick by Outback Maverick.

Teams still have to comply with the 100 salary cap for all 15 players on your team. (3 strikers, 5 midfielders, 5 defenders, 2 goalkeepers)

Teams also are still limited to no more than 3 players from any one team.

The remaining salary cap is in ( ) after the team name on the pick.

All right, be that way. Butler is scum! Jay wouldn't have liked that pick. LOL

For Jay's last pick, he selects the defender who scored a goal in his first and only Premiership appearance so far... Devlin of BIR.

The draft summary is completed except for Outback Maverick's last pick.

For those of you who kept score at home, here is the unscrambling I had to do with Jay's last pick:

    1. I couldn't pick Toure as Jay already had 5 defenders.

    2. After re-inserting Harte and dropping Kewell, Jay needed a midfielder. As no viable mid at 4.0 was available I looked to the 4.5 mids.

    3. I tried to get Butler, but by the time I made this selection, Clanblue had just taken Butler.

    4. So I picked Devlin of BIR for Jay's last pick.

    5. In order to fit under the cap, we released Kiely of CHA for failing our medical, and signed Jaaskelainen of BOL as the second keeper.

Again, Kiely is available in the pool.

    Nite all.

    Round 15
    Pick 15

    Ashley Cole - ARS

I elect to drop Barthez and pick up Kiely since he is back in the pool as Kiely was a higher pick of mine than scum.

Oops, I didn't see that Ashley Cole was already taken.

    Instead...

    Round 15
    Pick 15

    Gallas - Chelsea

and again..drop Barthez, pick up Kiely.

Interesting tactics shown by some managers.
Injuries will wrech havock on some teams as they don't seem to have a full roster of starters....

Now, that was fun and all, but i dare say i wouldn't do that again unless we had a firm commitment from players to all be on-line at the same time.
Or we started several weeks before the deadline.

I wonder how hard it would have been to pick a team if we did indeed have the ten managers that was looked for at the onset?

Still, i am happy with my picks as they ended up.
Next big dilema is to pick a skipper. You just know that who ever you pick the other lad you thought about is going to amass more points that game.

    Michel,

I found two addition errors in your team totals. (If my SUM(a:b) formula worked correctly.

We agreed on all indivisual player selections and values per your post, but I had the following different team totals than in your post:

For Outback Maverick, I show 97.0 instead of 100.0

For Clanblue, I show 98.5, instead of 99.5

Thanks to everyone for the participation. I certainly didn't expect it to consume me as much as it did.

My apologies to Jonathan, Ingromius, for making the decision to draft the rest of his team for him. Too many other people were involved with even more time constraints going into the deadline. I hope Jonathan can, with tweaking, come up with a team he is pleased with.

    Question

Are we going to use this forum for announcements or are we going to use the league one that comes with the game?

We need to have a decision so everybody is on the same page ...so to speak and literally

    Another question

Now that everybody is done, if somebody wants to make a change from the pool is there some sort of waiting order or is it a free for all now to make any change you see fit at any time you see fit?

    Nah mate.
At 6.5 i believe he was the steal of the midfielders.

Any comments on my second question though?
Do we have a formula we have to follow now for changes or is it a free for all.
I have a change in mind.
Missed something yesterday after 15 straight hours on here trying to get this done.

    Transfers

    I belief the protocol is.....

    Go to the league forum:
    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/forum.mc?league=63243

(People might want to bookmark that URL).

Check that no one has made a similar announcement.

Make changes to your team and before you press confirm transfers..... post your tranfer in the forum and then confirm your transfers on your team.

To keep teams up date we need to know who is sold (available for others to buy) and who was bought (off limits to other teams).

    Good luck :)

    OH
Excelent job with the draft, boys. I'm off the water after a few days, and very much liking the squad Hal drafted for me. I particularly liked the mid-draft trade of Silvestre for Lua Lua (+ cap room). Nicely done...

I also have to concur that going ahead with Jon's picks was the best idea, and I think he'll be happy with his team. He is moving into his apartment in London and about ready to start a new job anyday, so he probably was unavoidably detained.

    well, I'm back...

    Hi folks,

Obviously much to cover... First and most importantly, apologies to all of you for my absence over the weekend; I was moving into a flat which I found in an unoccupiable state early Sat, and had to devote the entire weekend to that task. I'm sure you all understand my priority decision and would have made the same one yourselves (hmmm... fantasy of computer soccer or reality of a place to live....?) Secondly and equally importantly, I'd like to thank Hal for doing an excellent job of trying to get inside my head and make picks for me. Smith in particular was a nice surprise: I had him for my next pick and he was ALMOST my last blue chip planned -- so well done Hal.

So again, sorry I made you guys wait. But now that the story's out, I'll accept apologies for the Ignoramius comments any time....

Now... since some choices were made without my authority (my fault I admit), I think it's fair that I now proceed to make changes involving available, unclaimed players. Since none of you guys chose these players I'm just going to go ahead and claim them and will let you know.... Any objections, I'll wait a few hours until I finalize them. But bear in mind, you all had 15 rounds to claim these guys, so I consider them mine for the taking and will need some compelling rhetoric to be convinced otherwise.

Promise, guys, I'm an entirely reliable fantasy soccer player as I think my performance over the past few years in our leagues has shown. Please forgive the absence this weekend. Considering circumstances I hope you'll all agree that it was regrettable but understandable.

    Jonathan

With repeated thanks to Hal for trying to see inside my muddled mind, here are the changes I've made to my roster, followed by an updated, final roster of my team. I was careful to read through the draft and make sure that none of these players were claimed (even read through all 26 pages of this thread to be sure), but please correct me if I've claimed any already spoken-for players. The last thing I'd want to do is start a salary bidding war, we've all seen what happened in Italy...

    TRADES:

Dabizas (Newcs, 6.0) for Ferrer (CHE, 3.5)
Aliadiere (ARS, 4.0) for Cole, Carlton (CHE, 4.0)
Geremi (MID, 7.0) for Pires (ARS, 9.0)
Gravesen (EVE, 6.0) for Veron (MUN, 8.0)

    FINAL ROSTER:

    GK:
    DUDEK, Liv: 7.0
    VAESEN, Birm: 4.0

    DEF:
    COLE, Ars: 8.0
    TRAORE, Liv: 6.0
    RADEBE, Lee: 4.5
    WARHURST, Bolton: 4.5
    FERRER, Chels: 3.5

    MID:
    KEWELL, Lee: 9.0
    BERNARBIA, City: 7.5
    INAMOTO, Fulham: 5.0
    PIRES, Ars: 9.0
    VERON, MUN: 8.0

    STRIKER:
    VAN NISTELROOY, MUN: 11.0
    SMITH, Lee: 8.5
    COLE, Che: 4.0

That leaves me with a whopping 0.5 of cap room, slightly different from the 2.0 that Hal left me with. My strategy is to play a 4-4-2 until Pires is back, then go with a 3-5-2. So, the way I see it, if I'm in contact by mid October when Pires is expected back, then look out. It's a bit of a risk, I admit, but where does one get without taking risks? It seemed too good to be true that Veron was actually available at this point... I felt as though his feelings were hurt so I took him on board. Was looking at Okocha... who at CYKI was responsible for making him more expensive than Veron, for the love of God?!?!?!

I've entered this as my team at CYKI, so please, if you have any reasonable complaints about how I've put together my team after missing 8 rounds of "A-list" players over the weekend, please reply by the end of the day so I can change if necessary. As stated before, though, I think this is a pretty fair way for you all to have drafted your team and for mine still to work for the tactics I had chosen for the season.

I hope the share price of Pires doesn't go down too much for you :)

Here's some financial wisdom to ignore from a man whose finances are in such disarray that he can't even afford a temporary cell phone.... buy low, sell even lower.

We at London St Germain stand by Pires; we are appalled that other managers so coldly ruled him out of their side due to a temporary injury. And while his value may plummet for a while when he's not playing... once he is, I've got him and you can't have him....
