I am a dumb American student heading off to Chile in six weeks for a semester, and was wondering when the new season starts up there. I know the past season just ended a few weeks ago. Does the new season start reasonably soon, or do they get a few months off like their counterparts in the US? Just trying to find out if I'll be feed this soccer addiction and go to matches in Chile while I'm there.

With strike and everything I remember going to a game at the end of last February. They should be playing by then. You can still go and watch friendly games when a tournament is not on.
