Which DVD movie was your very first buy after getting your DVD player? A movie that you always wanted and purchased and was not rented.

I purchased my Panasonic DVD player in early 2001. The first DVD I bought and played on my player is a concert, The Rolling Stones Live --Bridges to Bablyon Tour. It rocks. Good if you have a buzz.

I got a DVD player as a Christmas gift along with "Apocalypse Now Redux" and "The Perfect Storm", however, the first DVD I actually bought was "Top Gun".

I can't remember which was the first one I bought.

It was one of the following though:

    Yojimbo
    Scent of Green Papaya
    Farewell My Concubine
    Mishima

Actually, I got this before I got my DVD player:
"How I Won The War" (an obscure John Lennon movie).

    The second was "American Beauty".

No no. Not at all. I actually use a Cue:Cat to scan in the UPC codes!

Mine is a little outdated, tho. I just noticed LOTR isn't on there.

Chalk another one up for the Matrix.

    Then, Fellowship of The Ring.

The first DVD I got after buying my player was The Matrix (because there is a law that everyone that has a player has to own The Matrix).

But I got lots of DVDs before I got my player - I would view them at a computer at work. The first DVD I got was Total Recal 2070, which was the movie pilot for the short lived and very awesome cable TV series. Shortly after was Network.
