That is a really good pre season trip to hit the warmer west coast and to play a top PDL club and another pro team, especially a top team, is much better than playing NCAA teams.
I know the Union are heading south to Florida to play NASL clubs Armada the 7th and Rowdies the 10th.
I would love to see more of this going on to the point of a baseball Spring Training type thing. To include MLS, NASL, and the USLPro.
If all things go right over the next few years we should see 24 MLS clubs, with 24 direct affiliate USLPro minor clubs, and somewhere about the same for NASL and USLPro Independent clubs of 24. (Maybe seeing the USLPro independents merge into the NASL since they could both be at the D2 level.)
That would be over 70 pro teams which could group together in a chosen warmer regions like Florida, Southern Cal, South Texas. Where there are already a good amount of clubs across the 3 pro leagues in and near those regions. As well a good amount of practice facilities for visiting clubs from the colder regions.
There are also enclosed venues as well in St Pete and San Antonio which could be used.
Clubs start moving back North close to the MLS season start. MLS clubs visiting their USLPro Affiliates in that last week or so for a match. A second match at the MLS clubs home venue vs a NASL club. Like the Cosmos coming to Philadephia. After that heated USOC match it would be a game of interest for fans as well.
NASL clubs starting season a month later could continue with regional cross league matches.
