Is he going to move to Chicago or just work out of Belgrade?

This is an insanely smart hire. Very cerebral player in his day. Fluent in English and Spanish. Knows MLS though was only here a half season (left because he needed to return to Serbia to take care of his father who had a stroke). Always had an appreciative attitude with the fans/supporters.

I love this hire. He's successful, has MLS experience, and isn't a retread of some bullshit. I'm cautiously optimistic.

    I like it.

He seems full of life, unlike the zombie potatoe.

    We shall see.

The only way he is out in less than a year is if he pisses off Hauptman/Rod/FO. I will put the over under at 8 months.

I'd take the over. From what little I've heard/wikipediaed about him, he seems like a build with youth type coach. Got to give those guys time. He could be the best thing to ever happen to Harry Shipp.

I take the over, but at some point he is going to say "What the Hell are you guys doing?" . I put that moment at the midway through next season.

    My prediction

He will be a good coach and then snatched away by some Euro team.

Hey, Union fan here. I come in peace.

I'm happy for Paunovic, my wife and I know he and his family and they are all fantastic people. Paunovic has been around the league in terms of operations pretty much since the day his playing career ended with the Union he's attended draft combines even though he had zero reason too. He definitely wants his players to have passion for the game and to give it their all. I'm a little worried that he'll get chewn up and spit out given your guys' ownership group reputation. I honestly wish the best for Paunovic and you guys since god knows you deserve it.

No optimism here. He seems like a good hire, but this Fire organization will find ways to ruin him. If I were a betting man, I'd say he, along with NR, will be gone in less than 2 years.

This sounds like the best situation given our ownership. A passionate coach who knows MLS, recently successful at the youth level, and someone who will maximize the talent he has at his disposal.

Sounds too good to be true. My money is on ownership to screw this up somehow. The resources around the club is dire so he will either fail and be dismissed too early or he will succeed despite the ownership and go on to bigger and better things.

At the Rodriguez press conference, he's apparently trotting out the old line that Hauptman made with Yallop:

The Fire continue the deception that if you simply repeat something enough times, then people will be fooled into believing it.

based on most of the posts today, it seems to be working so far with the new coach.
