Started in playoffs 2nd leg with a bunch of other dual Yanks (Cowell added to the starting lineup late): 1-1 (1-1 aggregate) in 34th.
Scored in a friendly: CHIVAS on X: "41' ¡Gol del Rebaño Sagrado! ¡Richard Ledezma anota el segundo para Chivas! ¡Otra asistencia de Ángel Sepúlveda! Irapuato 0-2 Guadalajara https://t.co/dFRBPBxvwN" / X
We've lost Ledezma to a one-time switch to Mexico: https://sbisoccer.com/2026/01/repor...-gutierrez-complete-one-time-switch-to-mexico I'm rather bummed/frustrated about this. I still liked his game and his potential as an attacking midfielder. And I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him turn into a late-bloomer. He's a guy who showed a lot of technique and promise as a youngster, flashes of John O'Brien-level brilliance in the 2019 U-20 World Cup, struggled mightily with unlucky injuries, and then managed to claw his way into a starting role with PSV before moving to Chivas, where he is among the league leaders in assists now that he's returned to a more natural midfield role. Thankfully we have depth and cover in the positions where Ledezma plays, but this is a loss for our program. You can't honestly tell me Jack McGlynn is a better player or a higher potential prospect than Ledezma.
But those are exactly the guys you're likely to lose. He knows he has a better shot with Mexico. It's how we got Tillman, Dest, Musah, etc. And notice the caliber of those guys, who push out guys like Ledezma, is much higher. I wouldn't worry about it tbh
Scored the opener in a 3-2 win: Richy Ledezma not only has a strong chance of making Mexico’s World Cup team but also of actually starting for them.Don’t @ me🇲🇽 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/kDzC2T5dCQ— herculez gomez (@herculezg) February 1, 2026
