Ended 2-2. PSV inch back into 1st but Ajax are only 1 pt behind with 2 extra games to play. PSV with only 1 win in last 5 league games. 3 straight ties.
This season is great for Ledezma. But really a shame Pepi got knocked. This is the "out of gas" year everyone was hoping for for de Jong. Just sucks Pepi is not there to take the wheel any longer.
3-1 on the night to PSV deep into extra time. A performance for the ages if this holds Edit: And that's how it finished. 4-3 to PSV on aggregate Richie and PSV are in the last 16 of the CL
Uh-oh! I am officially concerned….. Ledesma was NOT included the preliminary 60-man roster for the upcoming Nations League match in March. Final 23 will be announced prior to match.
All things equal, he would've been included. I'm guessing he's already well on his way to jumping ship. Can't blame him, would be a good pickup for Mexico. May end up being the most consequential Mexican-American we've lost in some time.
Ledezma takes a break from metaphorically straddling the Rio Grande to play a football match - today in the KNVB Cup against Go Ahead Eagles. Suddenly struggling domestically with almost all of their Yanks out hurt, PSV bow out 2-1. Ledezma does not seem to have been the problem according to a match report.
The gap is only 6 points with 8 games left in the season and PSV have a massive GD advantage. Ajax arguably have a slightly easier run-in but 7 games is enough time for PSV to close the gap with a run of wins and they did drop 2 points against AZ in the last round. An Ajax win will effectively crown them as champions, but a loss starts what Fergie called "squeaky bum time". It's a recipe for a rather cagey affair.
The bums are officially squeaky. Ledezma subbed on for Dest in the 77th as Dest may not yet be 90 minutes fit, with Ajax already up 2-0. That's how it ended.
If Ajax are 9 points clear with 7 games to go and have lost only twice all season, I'd say bums are pretty unsqueaky at this stage. It's all about PSV prepping for next season at this stage and with Richie consistently getting PT ahead of Karsdorp, I'd say he's in a decent place in that regard
Looks like Karsdorp won't be part of PSV next season. There's a clause in his 1 year contract that an automatic extension is triggered, when he has played a certain number of matches. He however iirc has hardly played 100 minutes in total, due to injuries or lack of fitness ( the two are linked). What I get from rumours, PSV willnot offer him another contract after this season.
At the pre-match press conference, Bosz was asked about Ledezma's future and responded that he "fervently" hopes Richie will stay put, noting that he's been playing fullback for the first time in his life and doing really really well: Bosz hoopt ook vurig dat Ledezma bij PSV blijft. "Hij staat voor het eerst van zijn leven rechtsback en doet dat echt goed", vindt de trainer. "Natuurlijk maakt hij weleens een fout, maar hij heeft het echt goed ingevuld."— Rik Elfrink (@RikElfrink) April 23, 2025 in the replies, one PSV fan say that "doing really well" is an understatement.
