Well, while everyone was busy with that whole European Championship thing, there was a bunch of stuff going on in the domestic leagues, at least in Sweden. First off, the Swedish Cup has reached the quarterfinal stage, and here is the draw. Home team is listed first, and all matches are to be completed by August 5. Östers IF (Superettan) vs. Assyriska Föreningen (Superettan, and last years runner-up) GAIS (Superettan) vs. Hammarby (Allsvenskan) FC Café Opera/IFK Norrköping (both Superettan) vs. Djurgårdens IF (Allsvenskan) IFK Göteborg (Allsvenskan) vs. Örebro SK (Allsvenskan) Opera plays Norrköping on July 6. There was one match in the Allsvenskan during the Euro break. Officially a part of Round 13, Malmö beat Örgryte, 1-0 in front of 11,940, Andreas Yngvesson with the only goal. The attendence number is worth noting, despite the fact that it was the lowest crowd of the season for Malmö, it puts their total attendence for the season at 98,946. So, unless Malmö gets a ridiculously low turnout for their July 7th match with Sundsvall, or AIK gets a sellout for their match with Kalmar that same day, Malmö will be the first club to hit the 100,000 attendence mark for the season, in what would be their 6th home date. The Allsvenskan really gets going again Wednesday: AIK-Kalmar FF Malmö FF-GIF Sundsvall Örgryte IS-Landskrona BoIS Halmstads BK-Djurgårdens IF And Thursday: Hammarby-Helsingborgs IF Trelleborgs FF-IF Elfsborg Örebro SK-IFK Göteborg That is round 10, of 26. The Superettan did play throughout the Euro tournament, and they have now just about finished 13 of 30 rounds. BK Häcken and Gefle are tied at the top with 26 points. Right now Häcken is ahead on goal differential (+13 to +11), but Häcken still has to play their round 13 match (Wednesday, at Västra Frölunda), so with a win, or tie, they take the outright lead. Assyriska are in the playoff spot with 25 points, 1 ahead of GAIS. Thus far, Häcken hasn't lost yet, 7 wins and 5 draws in 12 matches. Friska Viljor have a firm hold on last place, just 7 points, and 10 losses in 13 matches this season. Västerås and Enköping hold the other 2 relegation places, both with 10 points. Brage and Boden are safe on goal differential as of now, and Falkenberg have 11 points.
Oh never mind about my question in the earlyer forum then. do you know where I can look at the table for superettan and a list of games ect. Thanks for all the other info!
www.svenskfotboll.se is the homepage of the Swedish FA. On the left side of the page, in the "serier" drop down menu, choose "superettan". They are good about updating results, schedules and standings.
