First, Vanney not included in the matchday squad for the next match (2/1 I think) which is the big local derby (which is redundant, isn't it) at Corsican neighbors Ajaccio.

In further bad news, Bastia takes a loan of 21-year old French youth international defender Phillipe Billy from Italian D2 Lecce through the end of the year. I would think it is tough for a foreigner on the margins like Vanney to fight for time against a French "espoir" (literally "hope" - the French term for players selected for national youth teams).

    Suspended

Per Buff's last report Vanney is suspended for the 2/1 match for a red card in the last reserve match.

Things do look crowded though on the left side of the Bastia defense. Looks like Greg's going to have to stick it out through the end of the year and then see what happens.

One would wonder if Arena sees this calls him for some friendlies.

    Re: Suspended

Actually, he was suspended for the midweek match against Auxerre.

For this one, he's just SOL.
