Vanney goes 90 for Bastia as they draw at home 1-1.

l'Equipe gives him a 5, about average, though he got a yellow for a dangerous tackle.

OTOH, Soccernet report indicates he did well.

Found one article posted yesterday on the team website that appears to be about him. Can't read French though, Translation anyone....?

    "Les échos du 12/11
Une seule séance d'entraînement au programme cet après-midi. Romain Rocchi toujours indisponible, Greg Vanney et Chaouki Ben Saada laissés à la disposition de la CFA, François Ciccolini n'apporte qu'un seul changement par rapport au groupe qui s'est imposé mardi, Anther Yahia remplace Benjamin Longue."

My wild guess says an accumulation of yellow cards kept him out???

What's CFA, some French football authority?

    Babelfish doesn't do acronyms.

CFA is the reserve team. Vanney essentially didn't make the match day roster. The only explanation that I can find is that they wanted to keep the same team that had a rare victory in a cup match earlier in the week. Vanney didn't play in that match because of a suspension for yellow card accumulation.

Good for him he didn't get on the pitch Saturday when St-Etienne trumped Bastia 3-0.

Bastia is a funk and Vanney's return can't hurt.

Yesterday, their performance was described as "phantomic".

Let's say B. It was a "roll over and die" performance.

To lose 3-0 at home against a team struggling in 18th place before the match... pathetic.
