I'm sure he could have played, but they had several days of training with Judd in that spot, and I assume they wanted the continuity of that over starting Bouda as he gets off the plane.

I'm sure y'all remember Baby Judas coming back from some major competition, landing at the airport and heading straight to Spartan, where he subbed on and the fans went crazy.

I know Baby Judas, and Senator Bouda, you're no Baby Judas :).

Anibol Godoy also purportedly literally stepped off the airplane and played in a Quakes game (and played well). But Bouda is not really one of our established players, and Judd had been training in his spot for most of 2 weeks. I'm sure Ian wanted to have a chance for the things they worked on in training to work in practice. Oh well...

According to the Fotmob screenshot I posted earlier in this thread, Jebo was on the injured list.

Yeah, they said abdominal injury, which was actually a relief to me because I was afraid it might be another concussion. MLS site just said "upper body", which is not real specific. And they said "early October" return, which may or may not true because I think just about every injury return on that Fotmob was "early October" return. I saw a video of Jebo walking around Vancouver and I noticed that he seemed to be walking a little funny. So I guess that's the reason.

You're not a scout or an evaluator, so it's OK if you're not good at it.

Pretty sure I'm a lousy brain surgeon, but it doesn't matter!!

    Go Quakesfans!!

We all think we can evaluate talent / players. That's what most of this forum is about. If we didn't have opinions this would be a dead forum. Whether or not we're any good at it is a different question. :)

Look at it this way -- even if we don't know how to do brain surgery (I'm told it's easy, just stick in a tube and stir it around) we can assess whether the procedure was a success or not. Similarly, we may not know how to develop players or how to coach a team (at least not professionally) but we can evaluate what's in front of us.

BTW, there were a few comments on the turf at BC Place. It reminds me of the carpeting at minigolf - that sort of uneven brushed straw look (not captured that well below but you know what I mean).
