Arsenal and Netherlands striker Robin van Persie has reinjured his knee in training, Arsenal have released. According to early estimates, he will miss the rest of the season and the European Championships at least, and will probably miss the beginning of next season. "It's a rough blow to the team after he'd just gotten back, but we have to persevere," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. "We will have Adebayor and Walcott to play up front and cover for the injury. We have seen that they are able to do so, and I have full confidence in them." The Dutchman, who would most likely have been in the first team for the upcoming first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Liverpool, has yet to comment. He will undergo a scan Thursday. Arsenal trainer Gary Lewin has suggested that, at worst, van Persie could miss up to three months of the next season. "The injury is worse than it was before, and the chances of him being ready for the start of next season are very, very low. Most likely, he will be out for two or three months to start the season."
News flash: Garber announces St. Louis not in consideration for MLS franchise. "There just doesn't seem to be the passion - or knowledge - for the sport in St. Louis," said the Commissioner. Call it karma, Sam!
Ugh...not funny. After the stressful Bolton affair, now this guess just not up for April fools jokes this season.
"It's a rough blow to the team after he'd just gotten back, but we have to persevere," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Arsene speaks better English.
Lame. By the way, my girlfriend's coworkers had the best April Fool's Day joke EVER today. Her coworker leaves her bag by her desk even when she goes and teaches. Naturally, of course. Well, her coworkers got her keys, went to her car, and moved her car about a half mile away from school. Only takes about 15 minutes, and her keys were back in her back before she'd even noticed a thing. Cue 5 pm..."WHERE IS MY ********ING CAR?!?!?! SOMEONE'S STOLEN MY CAR!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!"
I laughed. Then I wondered whether this thread was enough to entice that kid (FeistyOne) who says RvP "is no longer first team" and no longer in AW's plans to come back for a round of 'I told you so's' Thats when I became upset.
Re: In a far away place many of you have only seen on a map.......... Some brilliant and well-intentioned moderator has locked the van persie injured thread so I'll post it here. Good April Fool joke - certainly got me going!
