If Zanetti is not a world class right back, then tell me who is.

    Zambrotta, Cicinho.

I'd put Zanetti on a par with Zambrotta. I don't see Cicinho at quite the same level yet.

Zambrotta is much better then Zanetti in my opinion. More effective going forward and better defensively. Cicinho is better then Zanetti going forward but perhaps not as good defensively. Close, though.

Anyway I'm starting to like Gio more and more. He must've run a marathon last night, he covered three positions at once it seemed.

    Spread Rep thingy

    Sheer and utter genious :D

I don't think Cicinho is in the same class as Zambrotta and Zanetti, while Zanetti to me, is second to Zambrotta. Trabelsi is actually up there for me aswell

Someone even dare mention Eboue and I'll snap.

Trabelsi will have to fix that knee first.

Does anyone think Boateng will make the final 23 or at least be called up as a backup in case of injuries?

With Sneijder, VDV, De Jong and Maduro, we have quite a few midfielders either injured or just coming back from injury. I'd say there's a very good chance Boateng will make the final 23 if he stays fit.

Boateng will probably be our anti-Riquelme.

Yeah, George has a decent chance

I'm thinking we need either him or Davids on the squad as they're both excellent ball winners - I think I'm leaning towards George now with Davids looking a pace slower now

Zambrotta is the left back for Juventus and Italy not the rightback.

    Zanetti not World Class?

Now Boateng starts for Oranje? Give that one a rest.

Zambrotta is currently left back, but has played right back as well as on the right wing before Capello switched him to the left.

For you information, Zambrotta can play both flanks.

BTW. You forgot to mention Seedorf in your post.

I have to agree with Savare that Boateng isnt Oranje material.
He showed that in our last friendly.

He did play well against Steau yesterday though.

In the last friendly he was used as a very deep lying playmaker. Obviously not his game. That's also why it got so much better with Maduro in that position.

He is good at stopping opposing attacking midfielders though.

I think neither Davids nor Boateng are Oranje material but if I had to choose one I'd pick Edgar.

But if they played for Oranje they'd both fill the holding midfielder position.

I don't know about you people but I'm done with the 'who should play' discussions. I don't care anymore, I just want the tournament to start. I'll support anyone from now on. Throw an orange shirt on the devil and I'll cheer him on as well.
