We are the best team in the world in passing sideways.

I really like Carreras, and I think his left-sided teammates let him down a lot of the time. I do think he should send in more low crosses quickly when he gets played the ball near their box.

Jiminez has really grown into this game. Been very good past 15 minutes or so.

He looks like an actual RB.

Would really think we would benefit from having Franco in for either Cama or Guler and play him behind the strikers. Need his directness and movement off the ball and give him more space in the middle.

I think that's the best place for him period, rather than out on the right

Not a bad half in my opinion, but we need to do more when it comes to creating chances and I think that can easily be done by fullbacks overlapping and putting crosses in, and more runs being made behind the defence.

Fede is an absolute ghost in MF. Wasn’t even sure he was playing this half.

watching Real Madrid week in week out, this is the definition of a dead team.....there is nothing there ,no defense,no midfield,no attack,no style,no on and off the ball movement ,no passing nothing

the gap in quality between us and Barcelona is frightening ,its like watching 2 different sports when the 2 teams play

Vini is one of two magicians playing in Europe currently. It is not easy to play without him. However, it is good he is not playing in this fixture, and Belli/Rodrygo are also missing. Mbappe will win it in the second half.

Mbappe needs to play more to the left and let Gonzalo take the centre of the pitch.

GG make Rodrygo look like a rabid bulldog in comparison.

0.12 xG for Valencia, but only 0.30 from Madrid. Not much creation from either side

No player on this pitch will receive anywhere near as much criticism as Vini would. Can’t scapegoat him today

Like two teams playing in a relegation battle. The lineup isn't good either, it's not working.

The last time we played Valencia at the Mestalla he sh@t himself in the game and then missed a penalty, we lost that game.

He's the #2 on the team (in theory). The #1 has 37 goals and has contributed to 60% of our goals. So yeah, Junior will get criticism.

    But he's not playing today.

We need to stretch the play much faster. We are very slow with our passes and in opening ourselves up for passes. Creating openings with these slow movements of the ball won't do. Either we bring the tempo up by at least 20% or we look at another toothless half. We've played zero fast side switches in the 1st half too - bring Carvajal on, he's perfect in creating those runs and sneaking away from his marker.

Biggest problem for me is midfielders receiving the ball and being unwilling or incapable of moving it forward.

Guler hasn’t gotten all his decisions right, but if he’s not delivering a through ball, no chance is being created.

Speaks to Camavinga Tchouameni and Valverde. They’re working hard off the ball but it’s simply not enough on the ball.
