This one is going to end in a 2-2 draw. I never seem to predict draws, so thought why not give it a chance. Inter Milan is still vastly underachieving.

It's 4-1 now for Inter. Valencia got some brief hope with an Aimar goal in the 72nd minute only for Van Der Meyde and then Adriano to squash that hope within the next 8 minutes. Could (gulp) Inter be looking like one of the favorites in the competition at the moment?
FT 5-1. the best game inter played so far (of the season). Everyone did their job, Vieri scored another goal as did ADRIANO. I really think they can work together. FORZA INTER!!!
A really poor performance by Valencia i really was expecting them to win but inter really played well i hope Valencia makes it to the UEFA cup if they dont make it through
Fixed your post Sue I haven't been posting on this forum in a while but this game has definetly brought me out of my shell. Inter absolutly smattered Valencia today. Okay Im exaggerating a little bit, the first half was close but I knew as soon as Inter did not concede a goal in the first half they were going to get a positive result. I have no idea what Mancini does to these guys (hope nothing illegal) but no matter what the opposition they come out for the second half with all guns blazing scoring 1 or 2 in the process. This is not the first time Inter have done that this season and I sure hope it is not the last. Im pretty sure this is one of Mancini's tactics wait till the second half and while the other team is waiting to settle back into game mode Inter have 200% concentration on grabbing a goal. Now on to the players Stanka was as always crazy in the midfield he is a machine running up and back the whole game, he never gives up. Opened the scoring with a stunning header then proceeded to play like a man possessed to get more goals. In particular he set up Cruz very well twice in the short while he was on. End result Cruz gets a goal and Stanka had everything to do with Inter's win. Now if there is one person that can top this it is of course Adriano the guy is "unmarkable" no one can stop him at the moment. It is true what the writers say on Goal.com, with Adriano in the squad Inter start the game with a goal handicap becuase it is pretty much a question of when is this guy going to score not if. I mean take the game on the weekend the guys scores two sensational goals each better than the one before, all only after arriving from Brazil 24hr prior to the game. What does he say after the game blah blah I played well but I wish i could have given more to the team I was still a bit tired. Wait a second, what??? Give more are you insane.....evidently yes. I am also glad the Mestella had the courage to give him a standing ovation when he was substituted, a true champion with honourable fans. Bobo picked up another goal as well. Took some good technique to bring that ball down and smash it past Canizares. Is Vieri back?? possibly but I will wait till after the derby to make that statement. Vdm 1 touch 1 goal does not get better than that. He was probably pissed Mancini left him on the bench and proved that it should not happen again. This move by Mancini did not only produce a goal it was very good in containing Valencia. Taking off Vieri and giving mor width to the midfield was a gutsy tactic at 2-1 and defintetly paid dividends as Inter were able to score more as well as contain Valencia to the midfield with the occasional Di Vaio breakthrough. Incredible game on the part of Inter. The second half was quite possibly the most spectacular display I have seen from Inter ever. This game also pretty much booked us our place in the second round as only one draw from the next three games (2 are at home) will see us through. But the pride and bragging rights of embarassing the current Spanish Champions is too much. I hope some of the Milan fans watched or will watch this game in the future because despite the fact that I was watching this game I had an eye on the Milan-Barca game. Milan played well for the most part and could have extended their lead but conversely several defensive errors especially from Cafu as well as Stam (early in the game) could have cost them dearly. Countdown to the Milan Derby: 4 days Forza Nerazzurri !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, Inter Milan show the talent that they paid for! Or is Valencia not that good? I think a little bit of both. I think Inter Milan might be the favorite for the Milan derby. How would rate Veron, Davids, Van Der Meyde, J. Zanetti's, and Adriano's play? Please give them a letter grade. Thanks.
Very nice game. Although the scoreline is a bit much for the game you played, a 3-2, 4-2 might have been a more fair result. But still the score is there and you did it, now just keep that form and beat Milan for us this weekend ok? That way we can move clear by a couple more points. Must say that I really liked the distribution by Veron last night as well as Adriano who I think gave out 3 assists and scored himself, not bad at all me thinks..
Three weeks ago I said that Inter played about as well as I've seen them in the past 5 years against Anderlecht. Well, they out did that performance tonight. Adriano is a monster and it was unfortunate he didn't score on the play he totally faked Curro Torres in the box. Everytime he touched the ball you could feel the impending doom in every Valencia fans hearts. But if I were a nerazurri(and thank god I'm not ) I wouldn't get overjoyed too soon. Because I think we all remember the performance Inter had at Highbury last year only to get destroyed in the return leg. So calm down abit. I wouldn't want every Inter fan to get there hopes up and then get them ripped to shreds on Sunday
Surprisingly I agree with you Spartek Inter have always been able to to produce great moments of spectacular football (ie Highbury) only to follow it up with some very bad play. The difference this time I am hoping is Mancini - Adriano. The coach is very intelligent and has gotten to his poisition not through luck but cleverly analyzing each team. He more or less sends out the same formation but plays teams differently to fully exploit their weaknesses. In Valencia he man marked all the key players so every time one of those players picked up to ball an Inter player was all over them. Valencia only really pressured us for about 15 mins in the first half and the lead up to thier goal in the second half. Afterwards they were dominated by a superior Inter. However I doubt he will employ the same tactics against a free flowing Milan. More than likely he will pack the midfield in hopes of isolating kaka and pirlo. Then have two guys all over sheva to cancel him out (probably not possible but hey at least you can try). Adriano again will be key, the difference between him and the rest of the squad apart from his overwhelming skill and consistent form is fear. He has none he does not fear Milan. Some say it was a miracle Milan got back into the derby last time I think not. Zacc and the team despite their quality were too scared to continue pressuring Milan and thought that their goals were enough to win the game. End result we lose. Adriano will not give up and his show in Valencia just proved this. Moreover the fact the Mancini will allow the team to keep to pressure through timely injections from the bench and neccessary changes during the game to attack Milan will definetly keep this game entertaining.
