Lost to winless bottom club Las Palmas 2-3 in Mestalla. Although Valencia put good pressure on early, they lost the plot due to strong goalkeeping from former Valencian Cillessen, and poor Valencia defending. First goal was Pepelu PK who was later sent off with a red card. Second came way too late, 90+4', Tarrega from Gaya assist.

I don't see Baraja surviving this disaster. Segunda league on the horizon, massive player sales next spring. I won't be watching this club live anymore this season. Waste of time. If they ever win a match, then I will consider a replay.

    Goals - Assists
    Pepelu 1 - 3
    Hard 2 - 0
    Lopez 1 - 1
    Rioja 1 - 0
    Gomez 1 - 0
    Tarrega 1 - 0
    Gaya 0 - 1
    Mir 0 - 1

Resorting to a 5-4-1 formation, Valencia got a 1-1 draw away to Getafe. Barrenechea stabbed in a Rioja corner for the goal, and then Getafe were gifted a 90' PK to take away the potential victory. Sigh.

    Goals - Assists

Week 12 match against Real Madrid and Week 13 match against Espanyol were canceled due to the DANA devastation. Also, their midweek cup match has been canceled twice. Not even sure if Valencia are back on the training ground yet.

Valencia beat Real Betis 4-2 at home in their first match since the DANA tragedy. Goals came from Tarrega (Duro assist), Duro (Guerra), Duro (Guerra), and Diego Lopez. They looked rough at times, but 3 goals in a 7-minute spell in the second half secured the points.

    Goals - Assists
    Duro 4 - 1
    Pepelu 1 - 3
    Lopez 2 - 1
    Tarrega 2 - 0
    Rioja 1 - 1

Second string lineup against 6th level Parla Escuela:

    Dimitrievski
    Santana, Gasiorowski, Cordoba, Vazquez
    Guillamon, Pepelu
    Perez, Valera, Canos
    Dani Gomez

First half, only goal was a free kick from Pepelu at 20'. GK had his hands on it but the ball squirreled away from him.

My two Spanish sides met in Mallorca with the home side taking the win 2-1. Valencia's only goal came from a Rioja PK. They attacked 11 times down the left side (Gaya), 4 times down the middle, and 0 times down the right side (Foulquier). Valencia are in desperate need of a new RB.

    Goals - Assists
    Duro 4 - 1

    Ejea 1-3 Valencia

Goals from Cordoba (Pepelu assist), Gomez (Canos), and Rafa Mir (Canos).

Very poor first half performance, but they came out in the second with a better attitude and effort, scoring all three goals. Considering that Ejea are 4th division, this should have been a walk in the park, but it wasn't. Gomez is offside about every other attack, and crosses from the sides (e.g., Vazquez, Perez) were very poor. This club is not yet clicking.

Gave up an early goal and then sputtered offensively to drop a home match to Rayo Vallecano, 0-1.

Mosquera screwup gifted Valladolid a goal and that was all that was needed for Valencia to displace them at the bottom of the table, 1-0. Valencia are going down and they may lose all of their remaining matches. Can't score a goal from open play.

Home draw 2-2 with Alaves. Rioja PK and Dani Gomez with toe punch (Lopez assist) earned Valencia a rare point. Mosquera screwup (once again) gave up a PK which kept this from being a victory. Valencia's defenders, while young with potential, are really giving up too many goals due to dumb mistakes. No need for Mosquera to scissors tackle in box when the ball is running away.

    Goals - Assists
    Duro 4 - 1
    Lopez 3 - 2
    Rioja 3 - 1
    Pepelu 1 - 3

    Week 19: 2-6-10 12 points

Hosted Real Madrid and threw away all points with late screwups. Duro scored off a GK parry at 27' and then Valencia played defense. At 85' they gave up two points from a defensive mistake and in stoppage time they gave up the last point off another defensive mistake, 1-2. Down down down.

Gaya and Mamardashvili return to the starting lineup and the latter provides this match's defensive blunder to give up points, 1-1 draw at Sevilla. "A blunder a match" seems to be their mantra. Rioja goal from Duro assist.

It was a fair result for Valencia since Sevilla had quite a few chances versus the single chance for Valencia.

    Goals - Assists
    Duro 5 - 2
    Rioja 4 - 1
    Lopez 3 - 2

    Ourense 0-2 Valencia

Martin Tejon put in a cross that was slammed home by an Ourense defender for a spectacular own goal. And then Sergi Canos set up Umar Sadiq to score his first goal for Valencia.

Dimitrievski, in goal, did not give up a stoppage time goal. Good to see! upload_2025-1-14_18-51-53.gif

Nice that Valencia can beat a 3rd division side.

Home win 1-0 over Real Sociedad. Foulquier ball across box touched in by Duro and then they played tough defense to close one out, finally. Very rare clean sheet for Mamardashvili. Now up in 19th spot.
