BERLIN- German first division football club VfB Stuttgart are interested in acquiring VfL Bochum`s leading goal scorer Vahid Hashemian for the next season, the online site of the Bild said Monday.

The former Pas player whose current contract with Bochum ends in the summer of 2005, is high on the wish list of Stuttgart`s coach Felix Magath who views the Iranian star striker as a good addition to his existing forward duo of Kevin Kuranyi and Imre Szabics.

Hashemian`s transfer fee is reportedly estimated at around 3 million euro. The speedy striker, nicknamed `the helicopter` for his jumping abilities, is presently ranked third in the Bundesliga scoring table with 11 goals out of 17 games.

They certainly need him, Szabics and Cacao are not good enough.

??????? Szabics and Cacao have much more talent than Hashemian and are just 22yo. And I don´t think that Hashemian would be the right player for Stuttgart cause they play a different style than Bochum. Hashemian needs big support from the midfield, while Stuttgart strikers often have to create their chances alone and Hashemian hasn´t the technical abilites for that.

Steffen Hoffmann would be much better, cause he fits more into the counter-system, but he can also be the replacemant for Horst Heldt.

How many goals have Szabics and Cacao scored in the first half of the season? And they’ve been playing in front of a great midfield and next to an unselfish striker. Hashemian has been a consistent scorer for a much weaker team.

Hasheniam is a liek cleaner upper, he wouldnt fit to Stuutgart I beleive either. I think the best Bundesliga side for him to go to would proabably be Schalke or Borussia Dortmund. Altough thos etwo are highly unlikely.

He should go nowhere. He is like Christiansen last year and Christiansen is even a level higher than Hashemian. Bochum has the best system for a striker like him.
