Nobody seems to speak highly of this guy. He’s had problems with damn near every manager put in front of him.

You mean the bald like pep thread which sounds more like a thread for City fans.

been here before enough times. E10H has sniffed it out quite quickly as well.

shouldn't have another chance but he really does need to take it and prove something long term for himself more than anything else

Dembele really turned himself around at Barca under Xavi. Maybe it's in him too under a new manager of Erik's quality.

    Ronaldo it is.

I'd love to see Garnacho get some minutes.

    • Excellent relationship with LVG. Coached him well and tried to improve his weaknesses. Not so with Mou.
    • Mou asked him if he wanted to change from 9 to 11. Martial politely declined. Mou stripped him of it anyway.
    • Mou makes comments about him in the media (mind games ala Benzema at Real Madrid) then tried to replace him with Alexis.
    • OGS runs him into the ground, repeatedly makes him play injured, but doesn't defend him from criticism from the press and fans when his form inevitably declines as a result.

If a manager didn’t make him play injured, he’d never play at all. The guy is perpetually hurt.

Or is he perputually hurt because he's forced back early and through compensating for injuries, he acquires new knocks? This shit is not hard. Multiple muscle injuries every season is the sports scientists and physio room dropping the ball.

So guys that are often injured aren’t injury prone? It’s because the sports science team are bad? Nah, not buying that. Some people just have anatomies that are more predisposed to injuries. Going through a more specialized treatment plan, training, strengthening muscle embalances/weaknesses, making sure proper recovery time is given…all things that can definitely improve that. But some people are just more prone to it. Your Jones, Hargreaves, Bailly, etc.

As for making him play through injury, if true it’s a bad situation all around. But we’re only hearing Martials side. And it’s not like he was only injured the seasons under Ole, his whole career has been this way. So, seems like more of an excuse for his form plummeting than anything else.

Just because you don’t like a guys body language on the pitch doesn’t mean he’s lazy. All of these things aren’t mutually exclusive. Y’all wanting to paint things as black or white when dealing with human beings is silly.
