How embarrassing will it be? I never thought we would win, but i thought we would play better than this
So we have a hipster manager who is actually worse than Potter. I guess Potter had a better CV in the first place. Liam should have stayed at Srasbourg and learnt his trade - but even after time I just don't see him being any good. 5 out of 21 points since Feb 10. We have good players. What we need are better Sporting Directors or ONE good Sporting Director and ONE good manager. It kind of surprises me that the investment firm that run our 'product' or investment or what ever it is . . .it surprises me that the capitalist kunts that run the Chelsea business do not realise that you NEED to have a competent Sporting Director and a top quality coach at the helm. Are they really so fcucking clueless?
The good news is if Aston Villa win the Europa Cup and stay 5th or better, 6th place will apparently get a CL spot. The other news is I would not seriously bet on lil' liam to finish better than 9th or 10th at best...nor he or the Doo'F's even be fired...
To be honest with you even if he is fired I don't think its enough to make things right. Firing managers hasn't worked for the last 5 years I don't think it would work now. Firing managers is an easy route but rarely solves issues, see Spurs - my worry is that the problems are FAR deeper than the managers (see Spurs). If (and because of the owners I think its a big if) we sack Rosenior who's will we get in? I'd love to see Ancelotti for example but I think there is no chance he will come and I;m afraid that there is very little chance any top manager will - that means finding the 'next big thing' when it comes to managers and everybody is after those. Also of course changing managers = ripping it up and starting again, I wonder where we'd be today if we hadn't sacked Tuchel, Potter, Pochettino, Maresca - I know you don't rate Potter and perhaps it wouldn't have worked but Tuchel, Poch? I reckon we'd be top 4 under those two by now. Frank is doing REALLY well with Coventry.........despite having the worst win record of any manager any time perhaps we should have stuck with him? I think there are multiple reasons we're a bit sh*t 1) The players are all about 'potential' as a whole they are right now NOT top 4 quality. 2) They're not as good as they think they are 3) There is not enough jeopardy on the players because they're all on such long term contracts (that has advantages too). 3) The club is run by people that don't understand English football 4) A new manager needs time to get it right and we can't afford to give them time & 5) Unlike the NFL (drafts every year), the Premier League is VERY competitive with 'other' clubs like Chelsea doing EVERYTHING in their power to get success. Unless things change I think that we might sink like Spurs. I think that we are in bigger trouble than even the most pessimistic of us think we are. :-( I do hope its something as simple as 'changing manager' and we suddenly find a managerial mesiah but I have my doubts. Sorry to be a 'Debbie downer' its all very depressing, I'm finding it hard to find any enthusiasm for football right now.
Don't worry it is all sorted, this summer we are going to:" from liam: "... talk about all different aspects of the game, physicality, technicality, positional things. "They're all things that we're in talks in and we know what we want to improve and we know where we want to improve in the summer.” So that is that. I have said ad nauseum that liam was not close to being our biggest problem, and why bother firing him til summer. But each and every day it becomes utterly clearer he is and never will be any type of solution, he is so ridiculously out of his depth and all the David Brent mid-management nonsensical gobblygook makes my head explode. And he took responsibility again after City by saying it was the players fault. They are so much worse in 2026 in every aspect and the only variable that has changed is him. Certainly Clownlake and the Football Directors are the biggest problem and set of fools and in recognition they all gave themselves a 60% for the Football Directors, to 80% raise for the top executives tis season as a reward for their ineptness So yes that won't change and they will get raises again this summer. I don't want Supah Frank anywhere near this titanic and though we have the money and still a bit of big Club status, I can't see a top manager accepting the job with such little control as we have seen with Nagelman, Flick and others dropping out of consideration so quick. So yes we are ********ed. But I'd rather churn manager in hopes of getting a bit lucky for awhile as that is the only variable that can likely change. Zero chance we get better or even make the conference cupy thing under loathsome liam so try another interim puppet just for something different at least. All so depressing
I wish I could think of something to say to make it less 'depressing' but I can't!.........Oh hang on - at least its not as bad as 1983! I'm afraid that's all I've got!
Unfortunately the directors of football are behind this awful style of football and will only appoint someone else who will serve up the same old rubbish. I don't mind seeing us l loose an entertaining game with plenty of spirit. However I can't even enjoy the occasional win with this tippy tappy side to side football. Just waiting for the inevitable mistake that will gift the opposition a goal. When we go forward our sense of fair play means we must stall until the opposition defence is in place. It's painful to watch.
