Porto, Braga, Benfica, all draw of course Sporting would draw too... this useless team struggles to score, and Vitoria looks like a crap team this season, worse then what their usual respectable level. 2 points LOST, I wont be surprised if this game becomes a caricature of our league seasosn camping in opponents halfs, passing the ball sideways and backwards and not creating any thread in the final third
Well, thats Sa Pinto's job, gotta figure out a way to unlock opposition defenses. Poor result, but not entirely unexpected considering our scattershot preseason performances.
Sa Pinto did his job. Sporting were better in every way. Once again it was Wolfs not getting in to position and everyone else not knowing where the net is.
This season I actually thought we have a good team. better then we have had for many seasons... Hope I am not in for yet another year of dissapointment. Our next match is on thursday vs the danish team, then monday at home vs Rio Ave. hopefully we can score some goals and get confidence, our defense is looking organized the attack just needs to click and get into form.
Why remove Adrien at half time, and insert Martins? Adrien looked to be creative with his touches in first half, and then Martins is inserted to play a deep lying defensive mid? After Adrien was removed, their was very little being created in the attacking midfield. I'm not blaming Martins..he played his position well, but the substitution didnt make much sense at the time. Carrillo was selfish at times, but he's poised for a terrific season.. Capel had a very quiet game by his standards. Ricky didnt have much service.. I also liked Cedric's pace and skill, but he made some questionable decisions defensively. Actually thought the backline was very solid and organized.. Overall, a well organized group, but SaPinto needs to find a way to get these players to find some offensive flare. The control and touches are evident, but they need that final pass..
I fell a sleep watching them play I must say that Bruno Teles is a hell of a player and Carillo may be the next big thing at Sportiing
