    UVA-Temple

UVA 6, Temple 0. (that was Friday nite)

I basically just wanted to post this thread to announce that finally, after 4 years of season tickets, I won a damn prize. I got a poncho in a little plastic adidas soccer ball. Go me!

The game itself was senior nite. 2 goals by freshman Phillip Long, 1 by Esky, 1 by Gibbs, 1 by freshman Paul Johnson, 1 by sophomore Kirk Dinnal.

Even though the score was fairly extreme, Temple wasn't a bad team at all. I was particularly impressed by their #9, freshman defender Joe Brocker. Their goalie, junior Patrick Hannigan, helped the score stay at 6-0 with 10 saves for the night. Temple's offense wasn't as impressive as their defense, with only 8 shots for the nite (4 of them resulted in saves) while UVA had 29.

Comfort's hand has definately been what's behind whatever problems people claim he's had this season. He started, but Brett Mayer-Aschhoff was subbed in early into the game. I noticed that Comfort had one of those metal splints on one finger, and tape around it and his pinky, with his hand itself taped up even more.

I'm starting to be able to tell the whole media relations influence on my posts. I was all about getting ready to put where the players were from in parenthesis after their names, when I realized this isn't a news release. UGH.

    congrats on the poncho...
I was at the Pitt game a couple of weeks ago with about 100 people there because of the torenchal (sp?) rain. I've been going to games for about 7 years now and have never won a thing. (Although I do have some connections on the team who happen to be incredibly nice and hook me up :) ) Me and a friend both won autographed posters, he won a scarf (which they were giving away for free the game before for the first 750 people) and I won a free Hardee's burger in the half-time contest. This just goes to show that the true fans will be repayed!

Awesome, way to go! I woulda been there in the rain too, but I had to work. I got a new scarf, but I like my old orange one better.

Western Albemarle! The only team whose player beat me both times my senior year in tennis!
