Yesterday during the FC Utrecht - Legia Warszawa game troubles broke out.

In Poland Utrecht fans were attacked by armed polish hooligans (mostly skinheads) two weeks ago.

In Utrecht they had a flag up ' ************ polska'. At a certain moment Legia fans threw fireworks at the Utrecht section. And a lot of it too (see http://home.wanadoo.nl/~buysh/movie/Legia-W_02.WMV). In a reaction Utrecht fans came onto the pitch, trying to reach the Legia section while throwing seats and advertisementboards at the Poles. The match was stopped for 38 minutes and troubles continued after the match.

I can understand that UEFA will be coming with some sanctions and people here are talking about a 2 year ban from Europe.

But isn't this a logical reaction? Should you just accept people throwing fireworks at you? If there are going to be sanctions than Legia should be banned too.

Oh no, what a terrible miscarriage of justice! The poor Dutch “fans” were just trying to defend themselves from the cutthroat Polish “hooligans” by storming their section, and they get hit with a two-year European ban! Is there no justice in this world?

I'm saying that both clubs should be penalized, not one.

So please stop trying to be funny.

I didin't see any news videos of the clash, but I visited Galgenwaard Stadion earlier this year, for a Utreg match.

Their hardcore fans sit on the left side of the pitch. The visitors ALSO sit on the left side of the pitch, right beside the Utrecht hardcores, separated by a fence. This can be trouble, I thought to myself back then.

This is a shame. If I were in a crowd and visiting supporters threw crap at us, there's no telling what I would do, let alone how the rest of the home supporters would react. But in a sport like football, collective behaviour is so common that lead to mass violence. Again, shame. But understandable. Certainly not the right thing to do, I admit.

Fu** the skinheads. I've had life-long battles and run-ins with them, especially at concerts.

I'm not a Utrecht fan, I despise Stijn Vreven (although he didin't play yesterday) but I don't hate the team. And their fans coused some serious sh** at the ArenA earlier this year, during the Amstel Cup tournament. (I'm sure AFCA can tell you more stories about this....).

But I think they don't deserve this (possible ban), or whatever might be judged against them.

You mean at Ajax2 - Utrecht? The troubles inside the stadium were caused by Ajax supporters. The Utrecht supporters caused trouble at the RAI. But no one ever got to know what they were doing up there 15 minutes before kick off.
Utrecht is just like Ajax, feyenoord, Den Haag. Trouble occurs every now and then.

I know what I would have done if I were an Utrecht supporter.

BTW It is said now that Utrecht will be punished for their incompetence in securing the stadium. Not for the 'misbehaviour' of the supporters.

    Yes,
At the Ajax 2 - Utrecht match. Trouble started by Ajax fans, you're right, because many Utrecht fans managed to get tix in Ajax' fan area, and were taunting the home fans...

That's not exactly what happened, but it's close.

Everybody knew that match was gonna be trouble. No matter what.

    Anyway, that's what I read about the incident & talking to friends - I wasn't there, cause I don't live in A'dam.

But I've read the build-up to the story like days before the match and every news predicted big trouble before the match even began...

But, at the cup final, thanks to Wamberto and the linesman for the equalizer, then Zlatan scored his most important goal of his Ajax career and put an end to Utrecht's Cup dream !
