The roster is supposed to be named today on live tv -- ESPN Sportscenter. I don't see webcasting options -- it isn't listed on espn3's schedule. Anyone got links to the feed?
I found this schedule of appearances today. And a note that HAO will replace Rampone as the player accompanying Abby for the interviews in Bristol.
gotcha. It is totally not legal but I also read on some forum or another that awhile back the Feds actually shut it down. But it prolly popped right back up in another local w/ new/different servers as those types of sites usually do.
twitter pic titled "Heather O and Abby get makeup at ESPN" eta: and yes, I did make a at the semi-false advertising in that caption. I wanted to see both of them...
I'm a little excited despite myself. But not sure I should use an illegal feed at work. So I won't be. Hope a vid is up somewhere else. eta: also guessing that since Heath is the pic on the ussoccer fb page advertising the Cary game, that she's on the squad. But who knows, really.
Beuhler Cox Krieger LePeilbet Rampone Sauerbrunn Mitts Boxx Heath Lindsey Lloyd O'Reilly Rapinoe Tarpley Barnhart Loyden Solo Morgan Cheney Rodriguez Wambach
Loyden? blech. srsly. I know there are many other omissions (and inclusions) to get worked up over but Loyden is a terrible pick. No O'Hara. No Averbuch. No defender with anything resembling speed (Krieger comes closest to being fast).
heh. We've all been predicting the horrible-ness of the USWNT backline and CM play for over a year. Who doesn't know what's coming? The Lakers were not predicted to get swept and implode. Heather Mitts should be no where near this team.
Someone on twitter said "Politics" as their reaction to Loyden getting the nod. The only way I see that is if Loyden is bffs w/ a certain starting keeper. Loyden has none of the background that the "it's all about politics" crowd usually say "matters" for boarderline players. Harris has many of the things going for her that the usual "politics" crowd cite as "this will get you in" (ie U17/U20 success, UNC, etc). That and Loyden is really not up to the international standard at all.
Yep. I went back and read some of the threads (defensive depth chart, FawcettFan's "One year away" thread, and "The Shannon Boxx Problem" thread) from over a year ago. And yes. We've all identified the main problems. But Pia has done little to fix them.
Hopefully they'll shock us all and play that creative, possession-oriented soccer that O'Reilly spoke about during the interview.
