This has gotten unfair. Has she verbally warned four Germans now?

Yep, and I don't like it.
I wish we had gotten Welch for this match, she's more consistent.

Finally, a yellow on Hegering for a foul on Swanson.

A whopping +5 secs of time was added. This HR is "intriguing"

1st half: we are all slow, Rodman, Smith, Swanson. Cannot out run the Germans, not helping on defense as much as before. This is a bad sign!
Horan may be the death of me!!!

I don't know about you guys, but on my cable USA is going hard in on the anti-smoking commercials. Good lord.

I literally don't know anyone who smokes cigarettes anymore.

Yes, but USA is also getting a few calls they shouldn't get. Germany is not being allowed normal competitive physical play but instead Smith in particular is getting calls by going easily to ground. Hegering made clean block in front of the 18 yard box and Foudy says completely incorrectly "that was cardable" It was a clean hook block-and-tackle of the ball

Fox and Davidson have been fine from my perspective. I still do not understand why Lindsey Horan seems to be an automatic addition to every team sheet. I felt she had an really bad game against Japan, and here she gets the start again. She's been slow to cover in midfield and her mistake defensively gave Germany its one significant chance of the half. If you are all world when we have the ball, yeah, maybe you put up with a player with these sorts of defensive issues, but I can't point out too much Horan has given us offensively that one of our alternatives in midfield wouldn't give us.

Maybe Emma has taken her class overseas to some of England’s most famous diving schools?

Germany learned from the last game; they didn't settle to going into a low or mid block like other teams. Instead they're going after dominating in the midfield, and when they fail at that, then they'll foul to knock us off. So, a much more open game than the last one, but we need to be cleaner in the midfield and more clinical in the final third....as usual.

And thankfully we have Girma to clean up the rest.

I mean, Germany is also doing almost all the fouling?

The US needs to capitalize off of it and actually take some better free kicks though.

Sonnet on for Davidson. I guess she wasn't quite fully fit. I like Sonnet but her size makes me slightly nervous (at CB). But we'll see...

Horan has had a miserable half of football. She was slow to cover on that German counter again. Yet the first substitution is for a center half? If Davidson wasn't fit, she shouldn't have been playing.

Again Girma called for a phantom foul.
