IDK, I think she might've turned a corner in this tournament. Not today so much but in prior matches some of the times she ran at/by/through defenders was really impressive, dangerous & impactful. I've not been her biggest fan but I got a bit closer in the last week or so. p.s. She's also pretty good on the other side of the ball, tracking back, making defensive challenges, etc
Maybe just goes to show you, that many of us on this board don't know sh1t?' p.s. I'm lookin in the mirror
I am not so sure about that. There were 2 Germans, one was offside for sure but the player that headed the ball looked on.
I've only watched 2 brief moments of BRA-ESP, so my sample size is the smallest possible, but one of those moments was BRA's keeper Lorena completely screwing up a corner. And she's also wearing tape on her knee. So could USA get at their keeper(s)? p.s. This may be grasping at straws, since they're currently beating up on the "best" team in the world 4-1 in the 93rd minute. p.p.s. BRA should have much fresher legs that USA. With their lead, they've been able to use 5 subs within 90'.
True. But for the USA it's not just 120' today, it's 120' three days ago. Whereas BRA hasn't had to do ET in their last two matches.
What exactly was Brazil's supposedly bad behavior? They played mostly a clean game. Fouls? Pretty similar; Brazil committed 11, Spain 9; Brazil did not commit any outrageously violent foul. Yellow cards? Equal; 2 for each team. Pretty normal stuff. Were you under the impression that Brazil were wasting time when their player went down? Well, that was a bad muscle injury and the player was subbed out on a stretcher. Or the keeper when she went down? That was also real; the Brazilian defender stepped on the Brazilian goalkeeper's ankle; clearly seen on replay. So what exactly was the bad behavior? Are you just prejudiced against Brazil? Do you hate Brazil?
15 minutes of extra time due to fake injuries by Brazil. They're famous for diving. Always have been.
My post saying that Brazil would be decimated by Spain didn't age well. Fortunately, because I do root for Brazil (as well, like my signature line says, for the US and Italy). Now it's a dilemma. Who will I root for in the final? I would like to see Marta end her career with a gold medal, but I can't just root against the US. That's a nightmare for me; I guess, whoever wins, I'll be happy.
What fake injuries??? A player is subbed out on a stretcher with a clear muscle injury and you call it fake??? A goalkeeper has her ankle painfully stepped on and you call it fake??? Your bias is showing. The Brazilian women are not divers like Neymar. Don't mix it up. You are committing a generalization. The Brazilian women play a clean game. And part of the stoppage time is due to the cooling breaks for hydration. Both the defender subbed out and the keeper stayed down for a long time, both with real injuries. You can clearly see when the defender pulled her muscle, and you can clearly see when the Brazilian defender mistakenly stepped on her goalkeeper's ankle. There was NOTHING fake about those injuries, and with the cooling breaks, they explain the 15 minutes of stoppage time.
