Kickoff at 2:30 EST at Sahlen Stadium, which is sold out. They added some auxiliary bleacher seats to bring the capacity to about 13,000. You can watch on NBC...as in, the network channel and not some obscure Universal Sports channel up in the 600s somewhere.

Rochester has always supported the USWNT well, partly out of their love for Abby Wambach. But even before she was on the scene, the team has found plenty of support there. Interestingly, both Mia Hamm and Wambach scored their 100th goals in the city, in 1998 and 2009.

Do we know if U.S. Soccer is contractually obligated to use the Olympic roster for the celebration tour? Or could some new players get a look as well?

Pretty sure this is Oly roster only--the post winning gold tour is part of the CBA. I would imagine that if there were injuries or other special needs then maybe another player could be brought in. But that's not going to happen w/ this game, I don't think. Knock on wood, there aren't known injuries, knock on wood. Alternates Press & Klinger are w/ their Swedish teams.

Even Lori Lindsey - who was at the Olympics as an alternate - said she wasn't involved with this match.

The Rochester Rhinos announced today that hometown soccer star Abby Wambach will sign autographs for fans from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Friday at Sahlen’s Stadium prior to USL PRO League team’s 7:35 p.m. playoff match against Charleston. The City of Rochester also announced the stadium entrance will be named “Wambach Way” at a ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday. Fans must have a ticket to the Rhinos’ semifinal match to get into what’s expected to be a long line to meet Wambach, the forward from Pittsford who led the United States to the gold medal in the Olympics. The stadium gates open at 6 p.m.

The 32-year-old and her American teammates will be in Rochester to play their first match since the Olympics. They face Costa Rica 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sahlen’s Stadium. NBC will televise the exhibition, which has been sold out for nearly a week. Two pairs of tickets to the U.S. match will be raffled off at the Rhinos’ match.

Tickets for the Rhinos’ match range from $10 to $20 for adults, $8 to $17 for children ages 3 to 12. They’re available at the stadium or by calling (585) 454-5425. But Mark’s Pizzeria is donating 500 tickets to the match, making 100 available at each of five locations that fans can pick up starting 10 a.m. Thursday (maximum two tickets per family). The locations: Fairport - 7450 Pittsford-Palmyra Road. Gates - 2115 Buffalo Road. Greece - 3670 Mt. Hope Blvd. Penfield - 2107 Five Mile Line Road. Webster - 1201 Bay Road.

Fans also are invited to attend Friday’s 11:30 a.m. practice for the U.S. squad. Admission is free, but there is no planned autograph session. Also on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Penfield Wegmans, 2157 Penfield Road, star forward Alex Morgan will sign autographs. But the 250 tickets for that free signing are no longer available. They were gone within minutes when they first became available on Tuesday morning.

We are going to the game, head north and turn left at Syracuse. Tickets are waiting for us; if not, will sneak in with the Wambachs:). Dinosaur Bar-B-Que sounds good!

Do the stats in the game count towards Baby Horse and FullBach's career stats? You still can't get a cap with Pia coaching, so she has to go!

Yes. I am not in favor that the "tours" count towards career stats but that's the rules.

Again, this is part of the players' contract, its an extra bonus paycheck for the members of the WWC/Olympic teams. You can't complain about Pia in regards to this.

They are still international Friendly games. Surely a USWNT vs Germany game should count for goals/caps/assists/etc? Better that then a France vs Romania game.

newsouth logic: France vs Romania should count towards Delie's goals, but US vs Germany shouldn't count towards Morgan's.

I personally hope that newsouth makes 10 posts against Morgan each day for the next 10 years. That way I'll know she's performing extremely well. :D

I don't see how anyone can complain at all about Alex Morgan.
She's currently on pace to become the best player in the world soon, once Marta regresses and becomes too old (which will happen in the next couple or few years).

Make no mistake, Morgan is no Marta.
From 2004-2010 or so, Marta was the best player ever.
But not even Marta in 2012-2013 is as good as Marta during those years.
Marta has already started the decline phase, she's getting closer to 30 now.

[USA-CRC] Sundhage is still with the team today, and will stay a couple weeks until tour game #2.

MatchTracker still has no line-ups, for either team. It's 14:35 EDT already, so I take it kick-off has been delayed a few.

Neat touch: Abby Wambach joins the host + Kate Markgraf in the pre-game studio booth (which must be fieldside, or recorded earlier). Then she'll jog back out the tunnel? :p

I didn't see brandy chastain in that interview...Makes you wonder if she is still with NBC after she was criticized by hope solo....

BTW: A modern-day "budget" supercomputer consists of a big-ass rectangular array of huge 4:3 monitors, e.g. a 5x5 array of those Panasonic 48" TVs. You need a nice rack of ~5 souped-up PCs with some specialized cards just to split and run the video output. We have a 5x5 here at WSU (oddly unused -- the research group can't even justify the cost of turning it on).

NASA does that with an entire wall, e.g. 24x48 arrays, about 4m tall x 20m long, taking up the entire back wall of an auditorium. In Korea, Samsung tiles the entire outside facade of their outlet building, so it literally spans half a city block.

Anyways, every time NBC shows the Panasonic TV commercial, I dream of getting like 16 of them for my geek-cave :) (they don't go into the cave -- they are the cave)

those kids are wearing McDonalds jerseys, that's how you know you're in the United States, when they promote gross fatty foods on a soccer pitch...

01' 0-0 Lloyd half-splits and pokes it through box top right, fouled.
02' 0-0 Rapinoe to Lloyd, shoots over.

03' 0-0 USA ping down box left for Morgan vs Fernandez, win a corner.
03' 0-0 USA left corner to 6-center. #1 Miranda gets away with a shove on Morgan, slaps it out to 10m center. Boxx runs in and shoots roundhouse, doesn't get over the high bounce and skies it.

06' 0-0 Wambach flicks from arc left into 15m mid-right, sending #15 Rapinoe in alone. Rapinoe shoots hard low center from 12m, #1 Miranda blocks it out to 5m. Her defender comes across and collects it away.

07' 0-0 USA chip from midfield right, Morgan beats 2 up the centerline and they fall down. Race to box top, Miranda slides out to 16m and collects, Morgan hurdles her. Ball pops loose, defender collects it across again.

11' 0-0 Wambach holds at box top wide left. Squares to Heath at arc left, who taps vertical to hit Morgan just onside at 15m. Morgan shoots high wide left.

12' 0-0 Wambach pings across arc right, gets clipped by a bad slide-tackle. To Morgan who spins and nets, but offside. Foul on Wambach.

13' 1-0 USA free kick from 20m arc right. #15 Megan Rapinoe curls it over the wall to center high -- deflected by #10(c) Alvarado's head? Off the underside of the crossbar, bounces down into the grass like a Superball.

15' 1-0 USA square to Wambach at circle center top. She taps it diagonally out into #17 Heath's stride at 30m 6-left. Heath has Morgan running the right post, ignores her and shoots hard from 13m 6-left. #1 Miranda blocks it straight down, her defense collects.
