CHICAGO (Wednesday, April 23, 2003) - U.S. Soccer announced today that the U.S. Women's National Team will play Canada this Saturday (April 26) at 12 p.m. ET at RFK Stadium, after Nigeria was unable to clear proper travel visas for their trip into the United States. The USA-Canada match will be televised live on ESPN2 and is part of a WUSA doubleheader featuring the host Washington Freedom and the Atlanta Beat at 2:30 p.m. ET.

This would be mildly devastating to the Beat, to have Nonen, Hooper, Scurry and Parlow out because of this game.

This really sucks. I still feel we have the upper hand due to our depth, but this game won't mean much considering both teams will be without starters. Whatever the result... it will not give us the true indication of how these two teams matchup against each other. Taking four starters from us just stinks.
