The January training camp in Los Angeles will run from January 14-21 and will be the first event for the USWNT in 2025 when the team comes together. The camp will run concurrently with the “Futures Camp” that will feature up-and-coming USWNT prospects. The "Futures Camp", scheduled in San Diego, will provide the opportunity to see who might have the ability to mix with the established veterans of the USWNT. As expected, we have a couple new GK's making their first appearance on the senior team. Of the six uncapped players who are all first-time call-ups to the USWNT – goalkeepers Angelina Anderson and Claudia Dickey, defenders Tara McKeown and Ryan Williams, midfielder Nealy Martin and forward Ella Stevens -- four have U.S. Youth National Team experience. For Martin and Williams, this will be their first National Team event at any age level. All six have distinguished themselves on NWSL pitches over the past year or more. Not too thrilling, but it's always nice to see newbies making the January rosters. None of the European based players will be there, because the dates are outside a Fifa window.
I was kind of disappointed at some of the older players named. Like, why not bring in a few more young players to look at? This would have been the perfect time.
The #USWNT "Futures Camp" roster is due to drop tomorrow and will bring the total number of players assembling in SoCal next month to 50. Expect plenty of young #NWSL and NCAA names on that list, which will get them a chance to train alongside the senior environment. https://t.co/SpoOMhKUrt— Jeff Kassouf (@JeffKassouf) January 7, 2025
As far as I know, they will train together. So basically USWNT A team and USWNT B team. That's where Emma will see who should get a call up next.. Hopefully, she finds another CF because Lynn isn't young anymore
I am pleased and surprised to see Ryan Williams of the North Carolina Courage getting a callup. I've been watching her for several years -- and have always been impressed with her performance as a fullback. She started her pro career as a rarely used sub and has progressed to be a very solid player. Good luck to her!

https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/u...s-camp-roster-emma-hayes-development-u-23-ynt Here is the "Futures Camp" roster. Pretty good selection, covers many of the U20 WC players, including those still in college. Only U17 I noticed is A McCammon who is an exciting prospect at 17. Slightly disappointed that E Adames, Kennedy Fuller and Teagan Wy weren't included, though could be some explanation is yet to come.

For folks who don't want to click through on links above, here's the Futures Camp roster for this thread: GOALKEEPERS: Jordan Brown (Georgia; Las Vegas, Nev.), Mia Justus (Utah Royals; Lakewood, Ohio), Neeku Purcell (Brooklyn FC; Seattle, Wash.) DEFENDERS: Jordyn Bugg (Seattle Reign FC; El Cajon, Calif.), Heather Gilchrist (Florida State; Boulder, Colo.), Savy King (Bay FC; West Hills, Calif.), Emily Mason (Rutgers; Flemington, N.J.), Makenna Morris (Washington Spirit; Germantown, Md.), Lilly Reale (NJ/NY Gotham FC; Hingham, Mass.), Gisele Thompson (Angel City FC; Studio City, Calif.) MIDFIELDERS: Taylor Huff (Florida State; Mansfield, Ohio), Claire Hutton (Kansas City Current; Bethlehem, N.Y.), Riley Jackson (North Carolina Courage; Roswell, Ga.), Ainsley McCammon (Seattle Reign FC; Bedford, Texas), Yuna McCormack (Florida State; Mill Valley, Calif.), Lexi Missimo (Texas; Southlake, Texas) FORWARDS: Michelle Cooper (Kansas City Current; Clarkston, Mich.), Maddie Dahlien (UNC; Edina, Minn.), Jordynn Dudley (Florida State; Milton, Ga.), Kate Faasse (UNC; Phoenix, Ariz.), Jameese Joseph (Chicago Stars; Beltsville, Md.), Avery Patterson (Houston Dash; Jacksonville, Fla.), Pietra Tordin (Princeton; Miami, Fla.), Reilyn Turner (Portland Thorns FC; Aliso Viejo, Calif.) Additionally, Hannah Bebar has replaced Lynn Williams on the USWNT camp list due to hamstring soreness. (Sentnor moves to the forward list and Bebar is on the midfield list.) And for clarity's sake: the camps are being run concurrently. Hayes and her staff with the youth coaching staff will run the Futures Camp' training sessions. However, while there may be some mixing with scrimmages and such, the two camps are not all training literally together (as in 50 people all on the field at the same time).
https://wsoccerexpress.com/ Update #2 (10-Jan-2025): Due to the Los Angeles wildfires, both the USWNT camp and the Futures camp will be moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Those camps will now run from January 17 to 23, which is a day shorter than the originally announced dates of January 14 to 21.
Marcia Tafarel Calls 18 Players for First U.S. Women’s Futsal National Team Camp of 2025 from Jan. 15-21 in Sterling, Virginia | U.S. Soccer Official Website I was not aware that the US was into Futsal. This is the first of three training camps prior to the 2025 Concacaf Women’s Futsal Championship in April, which will serve as qualification for the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, to be held Nov. 7-Dec. 21 in the Philippines. Mana Shim, longtime Portland Thorns player, is the only name I recognize. I wonder if any of the more prominent names join this sport/team at some point. ALAS (5): Carlyn Baldwin (Oakton, Va.), Janae Chantell Gonzalez Braun (Folsom, Calif.), Sarah Mirr (Pleasanton, Calif.), Zaneta Wyne (Aliso Viejo, Calif.), Mana Shim (Honolulu, Hawaii) PIVOS (6): Carlie Banks (Peachtree City, Ga.), Ellie Goodrich (Alexandria, Va.), Sarah Martin (Bowie, Md.), Paige Pierson (Sterling, Va.), Auryn Tillette (Hoover, Ala.), Luciana Setteducate (Bellmore, N.Y.)
Futsal exists in the US but it's most popular on the women's side. Jaedyn Shaw is the biggest name that comes to mind when I think of people who played Futsal growing up. Hopefully, USSF could help grow Futsal.
Just wanted to point out that this is the first official futsal camp for the USWNT futsal team, but there was an unofficial US futsal women's team earlier, and they played in the World Cup in 2013 and 2017. The team just wasn't under the USSF banner. As for well-known soccer players who've played futsal, Allie Long is actually the first name that comes to mind, in that she often played on men's futsal teams in New York during the offseason where she was nicknamed among the mostly Latino crowd "la blanquita" which was a story in Gwendolyn Oxenham's Under the Lights and in the Dark book. From what I've been, for many in the US, futsal is a way to train in the offseason, especially in places where it's difficult to play outside in the winter. (At least that's what our team did in college.) I would say it's still most popular in the US though among immigrant/minority communities, especially among those from South America (I would guess that part of the reason for us playing futsal in the winter was that my college coach was Brazilian). For that reason, I also think it's more popular among the men rather than the women.
